Great little place that is unique and quiet but still located right in the heart of downtown. Perfect for romantic dinners! There is no rush when you eat fondue; expect to be there for a few hours and enjoy the swiss vibe and all the cheese. Chalet type decor with lots of wood accents and cozy feel. Get the table by the window for a nice view. On the menu; the triplette is the way to go. You get cheese fondue to start, followed by meat fondue and to finish maple or chocolate fondue! Enjoy :)
Quel merveilleux petit restaurant.
Had such a lovely experience here. It was a last minute decision for us to dine here. We didn't make a reservation but the waitress, Julia, was able to make a table quickly for us and seated us quite fast. She was knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the Trio Fondue, which we got. Great choice if you want to try a bit of everything. But the cheese fondue definitely took the cake. So if you only want to try one thing, definitely go for the cheese fondue. The beef fondue also comes with decent portions of meat. It was a great dining experience overall. Would recommend to come here if you're in the city.
Fondue dinner is our annual anniversary tradition …. And what better place to check out than a fondue restaurant right in the heart of Quebec City !
The restaurant is quaint; the decor is very cute and the staff are so friendly.
We started off with the french onion soup - a soup which I had never had before. It made me wonder why I took this many years to try it ! Fantastic !
We then made our way to the second course of cheese fondue. We chose the Quebec cheeses and we were glad we did. Amazing ! Of course the best part is at the end; “la religieuse” it’s the salty goodness of the cheese that has crisped up at the bottom of the pot.
The main course was fondue bourginone (pretty sure I spelled that wrong!) which was very different than the fondue chinoise we are accustomed to. This particular fondue is cooked in oil and paired with tenderloin. Their dipping sauces are homemade. We were so very pleased with the bourginone option !
Lastly was dessert; chocolate fondue with a variety of fruits and marshmallows. You can’t go wrong with dipping anything in chocolate but it was not “out of this world” or anything - but - a great way to end the meal.
If you’re in Quebec City definitely go check this place out ! Unlike most fondue restaurants you will not end up smelling like the place upon leaving !
I totally recommend this place. We were visiting Quebec and really wanted to try traditional fondue. We got the 3 course special as recommended by our server and it was delicious! The atmosphere was also so cozy and the staff are so welcoming and help you out if it’s your first fondue experience, our server was so so so nice and he explained everything to us and was consistently checking in on our fondue. The meat was extremely tender and everything was tasty!
If you visit Quebec City, be sure to make a reservation at La Grolla Restaurant. Such good food and fait prices! Thanks to Andre for the great service! It was our 2nd visit, the first was 12 years ago approximately and it’s still just as tasty! Highly recommended!
If you're looking for a date night or family friendly authentic fondue place...look no further!! This place is an authentic Swiss restaurant with amazing choices for fondue. Wonderful service, cozy place and delicious food! Great for vegetarians as well!
