This is another Chinese Asian dim sum restaurant within Market Village besides Pacific Mall. The size of the restaurant is large and the dim sum dishes are $2.10 from Monday to Fridays. Weekends dim sum cost are about $2.50 a dish. For Mother's Day, the restaurant was filled with elderly people. They would usually do the tai tea exercises in the cafeteria of Market Village but seems everyone took a lesson break today for tea.

Miu Garden has been around for many years and it's a good place to go for a decent Cantonese meal without breaking the bank. Very popular for dim sum since their prices are quite low, but my review is based on dinner. We had a set meal for 4 ($35.99) that included a steamed fish and steam chicken plus 2 dishes of your choice from a list of about 30. There are many other set meals but we liked this one because of the extra variety. Dishes were quite good and the fish was done well. Our other 2 dishes were the pepper and salt pork chops and a baby bok choy topped with mushroom and conpoy dish. The pork was spicy and crisp and the vegetables were saucy...maybe a little too saucy for my liking but still good. I can't really comment on "wok hay" for this meal, but in the past, sometimes it was a little lacking. However, I can't complain at this price point. If you don't like their set meals, you can order a la carte and most dishes are still under $10. They usually offer a few specials during dinner, like fried stuffed crab claws, (the ones at banquets) they were on special for $1.99 each. Meals come with complimentary house soup and dessert (2 options were available, the typical red bean dessert soup and tofu "fa"). We got the tofu "fa" and I liked the hint of ginger in it. Service was friendly and there was enough staff to meet our needs.
It was quite busy on a Saturday morning around 10am. I came with my parents and luckily we got a table quickly. Marked down what we wanted and the food came soon after.
If you come before 11am, the price for the dishes are all the same. There are also ppl pushing carts around as well. One interesting thing was that there was a lady pushing around mushrooms and other goods to sell.
The food was okay and had all your usual selections. I would come by if I go to Pacific mall.
Great place for dim sum. Can get quite packed on the weekends. Suggest you make a reservation.
Affordable & good service. The portions here are really big , and at a good price. 7 people ate for about $100. Dim sum is also really good too! I go to Miu Gardens often for dinner.
Wide range of dim sum choices, all-Asian clientele. Miu Garden is a popular resto inside the Market Village, northeast of the Pacific Mall, heart of the Asian shopping district in Markham.
My father (a retiree who seems to have dim sum too often) suggested that we celebrate my mother's birthday there. We arrived before noon on a Sunday, and the restaurant was filled. My father had camped out in a small room at the back that would be appropriate for private parties.
Miu Garden seems to offer a broader range of dishes that the normal dim sum. Seaweed salad would be more expected in a Japanese restaurant, the rice noodle around the fried bread stick (as opposed to pork, shrimp or beef) was a nice change. The normal dishes (e.g. siu mai, spare ribs, sticky rice) were freshly made, and the portions seemed larger than usual. The congee was unusally flavourful.
For seven of us, the bill turned out to be less than $10 each. I've heard that English isn't a strong suit for the restaurant, but when the food comes around on carts, who cares?
The entrance to the restaurant is interior to the mall, across from the food court. If the parking on the west side of the building (facing the Pacific Mall) is too chaotic, try the east side of building, where there's a long awning leading into the mall.
