Friends wanted to go vegetarian for dinner, wth, why not. Restaurant located at a Chinese mall within walking distance from Pacific mall.
Take specific mall entrance leading to restaurant
Small sparsely decorated clean bright atmosphere. We were one of 4 diners, what a shame as their veg dishes are creative & tasteful, my kudos to their amazing chef.
We ordered the mock sharkskin soup, mock beef brisket casserole, assorted mushrooms in snow pea leave & mock taro fish
All dishes were beyond my wildest expectations. I couldn't take photos of the dishes as they were quickly served by the service staff.
Service staff were attentive and friendly. Constantly checking on us during the course of our dinner, I guess they were bored with only four tables to look after.
Complimentary soy curd dessert at end of meal
1 star deducted as dishes were pricey, then again, ost vegetarian dishes I've encountered are pricey, I guess it's not because of the food ingredients cooked but the labor/creativity involved
All dishes were exceptional, I needed to go back to sample their other dishes ASAP
Great friendly staff and service. Partitions were set up between tables for social distancing. Food was vegetarian, reasonably good. The Mock Meat in Bird Nest, the sauce was fantastic but the nest was disappointing, compared to the typical Cantonese style of shredded taro, they used a thin sheet of dough, a bit like a taco bowl. The taro in coconut sauce hot pot could have been stewed a bit longer to thicken the sauce and give more flavour to the taro. The pepper & salt egg tofu could use a little bit more pepper.
Overall still good and happy experience, but there is room for improvement in some of the dishes.
Is this one of the best vegetarian restaurant in the world? Their mock anything seems to be better than the real deal. Mock beef is even better than real beef. Fried mock chicken is better than real chicken at any fast food joints.
