I absolutely love it at Bearly's, I have been going to this establishment for more than 20 years, I take all my nieces and nephews here and I am now taking their children. So my great neice and nephews are finding a new love in the city of Halifax. A great place they never went to before.The atmosphere is amazing and unique, servers are fantastic, the music is the dam best. You can be yourself here, dance all night with the greatest people. We all love the same things.
I used to find that my pants didn't fit properly until I became a Bearly's regular. The friendly bar staff showed me how I had been wearing them backwards all these years. Goodbye chafing, hello good times at Halifax's own House of Blues!
If you want a great burger and great fries, come here. The patty is juicy, the cheese and the bacon are fabulous and the fries are amazing. Wow! Thank goodness for Burger Week or I might not have tried this place. Come and try it yourself!
Awesome place. This is a really great pub if you enjoy blues. They have some excellent performers in, it's the perfect place to relax with a beer.
Forget about the world. It was recommended to me and I understand why. If you appreciate good music this is a nice place tuck yourself away amidst the bricks, play some pool and stomp your feet.
Very unique and interesting spot for listening to some live music. Bare bones pub style with a quirky twist. Service was excellent, food was enjoyable, and the entertainment (Garrett Mason) was out of this world.
Went here after dinner to check out the music scene. They had a really fun upbeat band playing some great blues. It wasn’t too packed for a Friday at 9 either. We got a decent spot on the upper level right in the line of sight of the stage. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly.
Great inviting atmosphere and really good blues artists, with regular bands that play weekly. Amazing food - I had the pad thai and my wife had the nachos and both were SO tasty. Good selection of local beers too; Olands Export Ale was a new one for me.
Oh what fun we had on Sunday!! Blues jam night with guests musicians was so fun and everyone was SO awesome. 🎶

This place was recommended to me by a friend. Drove an hour and a half to try it out and all I can say is that I will absolutely be back. Amazing food and incredible staff.
The place has an amazing vibe. When we went in there while we were passing by and man what a night we had. The band was playing, people just dancing away on the floor and even though we were just there for a single night we made a couple of great acquaintances. Must visit esp on Sundays or Wednesdays when the band is playing.!!
This place is always great. The music has never disappointed me.
Do not make my mistake. Don’t judge this book by it’s cover. It’s not much to look at from the outside, but this pub is a top spot in downtown Halifax. They serve real pints unlike most of the wimpy bars in the area. Guinness, my favourite, is on tap. And the food was excellent and reasonably priced! The fish tacos were amazing! It’s my new favourite spot.

One week after moving here 5 years ago, I saw this place and couldn't wait to go (I had a favorite, regular blues bar back home). Well, I finally went and wish my first time WAS 5 years ago!! Fabulous place!
A few of us went to catch Iron Wheel playing (GREAT BAND-- look up their CD release). There was tonnes of music, drink, dancing, and laughing.
We also ate there (yum!). My sister and nibblings ordered a few dishes of standard fare and rated the chicken quesadillas the best out of all the dishes they ordered. My partner got the fish and chips and said it was also good.
I'm not one to order standard fare when there are culinary adventures to be had and ordered the palabok. A-MAZE-ING!! Rice noodles drown in shrimp gravy, with shrimp, crisp pork belly, smoked fish, boiled egg, and crips pork rind.
The serving was massive and I barely put a dent in it, so passed it around the table. Some folks took a tentative bite of this unfamiliar dish, but after one bite, everyone was digging in-- "THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!!" My only criticism of the dish is that I found it quite salty (nothing a pint of beer won't fix).
I loved the 'roughness' of the decor, and the atmosphere was perfect! It had the same vibe as my favorite haunt back home. I can't wait to go back!
