I sometimes come here when I go for my liquor runs. The food is pretty good and the drink prices are reasonable. Good pub to try out if you're in the area.
This would be the bar standard. Right in the middle of the packs doing things right.
Open space, lots of regulars. Pool and darts, clean washrooms. Food is definitely above average (2018)
Went with a few friends the other night. Everything we ate was great! Shared nachos and everyone got different mains. Burgers, salad, pot pie. Everyone was happy and full. The fries though. Wow. Would go back just for the fries. So tasty.
Love the new menu with more vegetarian items! Service was friendly and prompt, and the fare was good pub food. Will definitely be returning for the ambience and staff.
After cheap movie Tuesday it was getting pretty late and was looking for something close by and open, quick search of Zomato and Great Bear Pub was still open. Ordered the "Signature beef burger - House made 8ox beef burger with aged white cheddar, rosemary and roasted aioli, apple wood smoked black pepper bacon, crispy onions, lettuce and tomato." This sounds amazing but playing words to sell something doesn't do it for me as taste is king. The burger was actually very good. The pub had music, pool tables and lots of space, probably a decent place to host a party, maybe my next birthday party. Pretty good food, drinks, lots of parking.
I came back to leave a new review because this place has definitely changed. We still live close by, and have been there a few times lately out of convenience even though I hadn't really wanted to after to previous experiences.
I have to say the food there now is a thousand times better than it was in the past, I'm assuming due to a new chef and kitchen staff. We've tried a few things over the past couple of months, and have been happy with everything so far!

Needs an overhaul. This place has great potential considering its location and size.
too bad the food is crappy, the menu is crappy, and the service is.. well the service is okay at least.
we've been here about 5 times, have tried different dishes from their fairly small and boring menu, and overall been pretty disappointed each time.
i don't know if its the ingredients they use or the recipes themselves, but this place needs a menu overhaul.
Great food with organic options. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Great place to watch sports with flat screens everywhere. This pub is also unique in that it focuses and promotes green initiatives.
