Chicken pot pie, and garden salad.
This was a delicious dinner. The Chicken pot pie was pipping hot. Lots of chicken in it. Garden salad with vinaigrette dressing, very fresh.

It’s probably a bit confusing for people who live in eastern Canada to understand why White Spot is so popular over here. Honestly, I don’t know why… the food is pretty tasty. I also appreciate that they try to keep the menu fresh by adding some new items from time to time.

White Spot is a bit more family-friendly when compared to other similar chain restaurants. In truth, if you’re looking for a little eye candy while you dine, you might have better luck at Cactus Club or Earls.

But if you’re only here for the food… that shouldn’t be too much of a problem. On this visit, we tried the Crunchy Asian Noodle Salad which included a healthy serving of chargrilled chicken, edamame, radish, cucumber, red pepper, oranges, romaine, fresh mint, cilantro and crispy noodles tossed in a sesame ginger dressing with hoisin sesame drizzle. The salad was quite fresh.

I opted for the Mexicalli Fish Tacos. You get two tacos made from soft flour tortillas filled with crispy tempura-battered and Cajun-spiced cod, coleslaw, pickled onions and chipotle mayo topped with fresh cilantro and house-made strawberry pico de gallo with cilantro sour cream on the side.

The tacos were quite good as the cod tempura was nice and crispy so you get that nice crunchy texture with each bite. Yam fries and pirate juice made for a great meal.
