It is rare that I go more than a few days without popping in to Gunn's. Our family is addicted to the water bagels, croissants and best of all pizza bagel buns! Staff is always friendly and baked goods are top notch.
Knish here are the best I've ever eaten. I am particularly fond if the kasha ones. I wish i lived closer.
I love their bread here! My favorites are the Fergassa and the Onion bun. Their cinnamon buns are huge and delightful. They also have my fave broccoli and cheddar croissant. So many more items I need to try!
Visited the shop for the first time today! I had tried their products before this. One of the previous Chefs that I worked under orders all his breads from here for events and my boyfriends family loves this place. The egg buns are always fabulous and the poppy seed hamentashen is my favourite dessert! Today I tried the cheese and onion bun for the first time and it was ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I'VE EVER EATEN! And whatever that mayo mixture is on top just makes it even better! And a lot more unique! I plan to go back later week to get my cheese and onion bun fix!
Gunn's is a hidden gem. I LOVE coming here to get breads, knishes, and savoury goodies. Every time I come here, I walk out with at least two large shopping bags full of goodies. I've tried a bunch of their sweet desserts and didn't like them all that much, they were also quite pricey. I really love their cake, however.
Pizza Bagels. Pizza bagels are very good.
Quality fresh pastries are subtly sweet or savoury with lovely texture. Friendly service.
Still the best. This is the best bakery in Winnipeg. Period! Nothing fancy, just delicious baked goods, the best breads and pastries around... the first time I tried spinach, my grandma took me here as a child and bought me one of the horseshoe shaped pastries - filled with spinach and cheese. I believe they still sell them. This place brings back a lot of memories for me and I'm sure others that have grown up in the city. You can see some of the older folks have been going for 60+ years, maybe even longer. It's in a rough part of town, but I appreciate that they haven't relocated in all these years...it's really a part of the community. Thank you Gunn's for still being around and making awesome baked goodies! :)
One of the Best Bakeries. Gunn's Bakery is one of my favorite bakeries in Winnipeg. Of course it helps that they are located only a couple minutes from my work, but honestly despite the rundown area they have a delicious and magnificent assortment of goodies. My favorite bread is the multigrain sourdough which is only available on Fridays. The poppy seed roll is great, as are the cheese & onion buns. They offer a variety of knishes which are tasty bun-like snacks that have a light layer of dough on the outside and come with several different stuffings such as spinach & feta, potato & mushroom, and potato & cheese. Some of my other favorites are the spinach & feta horns, broccoli & cheese croissants, and mushroom struedel. Gunn's also has a large variety of bagels. You can also buy their bagels frozen in the store, at a discount. My most favorite Gunn's product is actually not a baked item, but their low-fat vegetable cream cheese. OMG. It is on the expensive side, but I have never before had a cream cheese that tasted that amazing (and I am pretty sure they make it there too), not to mention it goes great with their bagels.
I have also ordered birthday cakes from Gunn's and they have always been fresh and tasty. If you haven't been to Gunn's yet you have to go. They have a largest selection of homebaked goods, friendly service, and they are not one of those bakeries that if you get there at 3pm they are all cleaned out.
I have been going there for years. Looks like family run, as everyone is very welcoming. Ordered my son's birthday cake which was well made with an elaborate design. Had an "accident" with the cake and don't know how they worked magic to get the cake looking like nothing happened. They also refused to charge me extra for fixing the cake. I am quite a happy customer.
Good, quality kosher baking at a very reasonable price. Their NY Style Bagel, Cheese and Onion bun, Almond Cheese Danish and breads are fantastic.
always so fresh! I did find however some of the cookies were very small for .65 a piece. Nanaimo square was a bit overpriced but soo worth the extra as a treat!
Very very good quality products. I am really very happy to find out this bakery. I reached the shop at 07:15 in the morning and there were people already waiting for shop to open. Very cooperative staff. Honest people. I have tried cookies, bread and a couple of more products. Quality and prices impressed me. I drove from Waverley to Gunn’s and they have met my expectations. I would say they performed beyond my expectations. Everybody give a try
Rich collection of great tasting pastries 😋😌 to choose from and for a bonus, it's all kosher. Will be coming back from time to time 💯. Thanks for the experience.
I ordered an 8 inch round birthday cake marble 32.99$ they took my order over the phone & gave me an order NUMBER for pick up. I ordered 3 days in advance paid by etransfer
Hadn't been in awhile. Purchased some yummy baked goods. Will go back. Staff could be a bit friendlier....smile!😊
