Loved loved loved the food and cocktails. Everything was expertly prepared...flavors were fantastic and the coffee was epic. Atmosphere and staff wee also spot on...great job guys
AMAZING! I visited with the intention of one drink, and stayed until close. The space is quaint and relaxed, service is fast and friendly. The hand drawn menus are adorable and fun. The cocktails are unlike anything you've tried before, with unique flavours and presentation. The food was incredible, I especially enjoyed the coffee roasted carrots. I absolutely will recommend and visit this place often! Go! Go! Go....

Drinks were great and original. The food wasn't what we hoped it would be for the prices we paid. I'd go again for drinks but not for the food.
Adorable cozy place!
The cocktails are fun, and the food is superbly delicious, the best Brussels sprouts I've ever tasted!! This unique place is in the attic of a house with a cute patio out front overlooking corydon. I don't like the chairs around the bar, they are big and clunky and awkward to move.
Came here for some afternoon drinks and tapas. It also happened to be Le Burger week so we got one of the burgers to try.
This place is really neat, it's literally in the attic of a house that just so happens to have a patio attached. It's cozy and welcoming but at the same time, seating is extremely limited.
Service was excellent and they were extremely accommodating with some special requests. They also split the bills very fairly (everyone pays for their own drinks yet food is split evenly).
The cocktails were beautifully created and the tapas very tasty. The flavours were well balanced and portions appropriate for the price. Unfortunately the veggie burger offered up for Le Burger week was not as good. It tasted like a mashed sweet potato patty in a bun.
If you're hankering for a fancy cocktail and don't feel like heading downtown, this place is definitely worth trying out!
The exterior of the place looked like a house. I walked through the first door, which turned out to be some beauty place, then went to the door further away from me. Walking up the stairs, the twisted staircase lead me to the bar, which seemed small, but the patio further to my left was promising. Luckily, the weather was beautiful enough to stay outside, no complaints. My two other friends and I enjoyed the three vegan plates: the Seitan Tacos, chickpea patties and the Brussel sprouts. You haven't had Brussel sprouts like we had them! The server was very cool and enthusiastic about the specials and took good care of us. Overall, a positive experience and I look forward to going again. Prices were a tad high though.
The best and most creative cocktails I've had the pleasure of drinking! I like their winter ones especially, as I'm a whiskey lover and they always pair it so well. All cocktails have 2oz too, which make their price really reasonable considering all the extra work and skill that go into them. The atmosphere is also the best. The dΓ©cor is on point, and the staff has perfected the welcoming/hip persona. On a Friday night, they played a bunch of Sinatra and I could not have been happier. This is my go-to stop for cocktails, whether catching up with a friend, for a date, or pre-/post- dinner.
I haven't tried their food yet, as I'm more into creative cocktails than creative food, but I love that they pair the two because it makes it simple to choose. With all those flavours, you don't want to pick opposing palettes. It's not as simple as beer and wings. So that's the only reason I left off a .5 star, because once I try the food I want to be able to give the full 5 if appropriate.
What a great little find! The service was casual, friendly and staff are helpful at making recommendations and staying attentive. I thought the prices were reasonable for the caliber of food, but the real star is the cocktail menu! The cocktail I had when I first went here months ago was memorable and to this day, I think the cocktails are probably the best thing about this place. The only downside is the size of this place. (If I remember correctly, I think there were three tables.) The patio offers much more seating but it's not year-round. I've often gone only to find they were full (which happens easily with a place this size) and I had to go elsewhere on the strip for drinks. But if you can find a seat, it's a nice, dim, cozy feel.
My new favorite place in Winnipeg! The drinks are amazing and imaginative, the food incredible and the patio and interior so cute and welcoming! The staff are always sweet and kind, and because the place is small, the service is super fast! Love, love. A bit pricey but worth it.
Fantastic drinks food and staff. Small place great atmosphere! My favorites were the bacon wrapped duck medallion and the ah yes. We for sure plan to come back here again!
Came here with a group for my birthday dinner. Left very happy and impressed! Service was extremely accommodating. Drinks arrived very quickly and was delicious! I enjoy my Bourbon, so ordered a Lady Scorpio and strongly recommend it.
Portions were a good size for a tapas place. Good came staggered as we were a group of 10, so hot food was always arriving. The duck medallions and duck breast were wonderful.
By chance our server was the primary owner. Even though there was a young infant in the party, he made us feel welcome and did an excellent job meeting our needs.
Decor was simple, yet elegant with a lot of space being devoted to the bar.
Space was a little tight as it's a smaller restaurant , and as mentioned it was a larger group.
I can't wait to come back to this hole in the wall, hidden gem this summer and spend an evening on the beautiful patio they will have set up.
We had the drink feature... It was something to taste for sure. Unreal flavours and my partner had the studio companion which was very soft and smooth. For apps we had oxtail gnocci and polenta romesco . I wanted to keep eating and eating. Everything was amazing. I strongly recommend that you make a date at this quaint gem on corydon. You won't be disappointed!
This is one of our favourite spots in Winnipeg for either an afternoon or evening cocktail. In covid times, we did take-out dinner for 2. The steamed buns (chicken and Tofu) were delicious, well seasoned, and expertly balanced in flavor. We had Cauliflower and lentils, as well as braised beef short rib -- both were fantastic! Would highly recommend!
A very small restaurant serving small delicious plates/tapas with a great selection of specialty cocktails. The outdoor patio would be awesome on a warm evening. Only down fall of this location is is is not handicap accessible.
Excellent ambiance!
Delicious drink and food! The steamed buns are delicious and i would recommend any of their cocktails! Pictured is the βtravel bugβ which was vegan, which i appreciated.
They clearly display vegan options and vegan dishes and you can also opt to add non-vegan options to your food as well if you wish.
The servers were all very polite and easygoing and a pleasure to be around!
The dude who was helping us out was incredibly friendly, and the bread and butter was much too good than it had any right being. Drinks and ambiance are phenomenal as well.
I canβt wait to return!!
Get a reservation if you can, but if you're lucky like us, you can get a spot right at the bar to watch the masterful work their bartrnder/mixologist/drink wizard. The line I overheard was "Cocktails is what they do [at the Roost]", and that is very true from our experience.
Food we had was all amazing (Stuffed Olives, Mushroom Handpie, Fried Chicken Steam Bun, Roost Burger, and Sticky Toffee Pudding) and the atmosphere relaxed and fun.
Everyone there clearly wants to be there, and you get that vibe as soon as you walk in.
Go here. Eat, drink, and enjoy the experience.
Beautiful atmosphere, one-of-a-kind cocktails and amazing food. The staff/owners are awesome people who are always so friendly and inviting. This is a cozy and wonderful staple to stumble home from in the area on any given night. We love you guys!
One of the best vegan friendly restaurants in Winnipeg. The food is creative, delicious and very visually appealing. I don't know another place in Winnipeg that creates cocktails like The Roost. Had a great dinner here with my wife and the quaint atmosphere and attention to detail was awesome.
Love love their set up it's cute and cozy. Well cooked foods all tasted amazing and loved their cocktails.
