Not only was the food great but the exceptionally kind server chased me down to the park theatre so she could give me my cardigan! Such an unexpected kindness!!!
yum yum yum! the staff are great and the food is fabulous. what more can i say!
Pizza was phenomenal. Only downside is it’s a very very small restaurant and they really have no place for you to stand and wait. But it is very much worth the wait. Service was great and prices were good. I’d definitely go again!
The pizza was tasty but they were definitely stingy on the toppings. I got one teensy piece of pancetta on each slice. My friend who ordered the salami pizza also got one piece on each slice. For $15-16, we can’t get a bit more meat?
The marinated olives and salted caramel / chocolate panna cotta bumped up my rating as they were both unbelievably delicious.
Service was good, although we waited over 20 minutes for a table on a Monday evening.
Wow! Incredible pizza!!!! Went there for the first time and had the olives for appetizer and the funghi pizza. To die for!! I cannot wait to go back!
Staff were very friendly and no pressure to leave despite tables being full.
Hands down, best pizza in Winnipeg. Service was great, small cozy restaurant that seats less than 20 people but we got in right away on a Saturday evening. We tried to make reservations but they don't accept reservations. I've tried many pizza joints in Winnipeg but Vera's had the freshest ingredients and chewy, tasty dough. My husband got the cheese pizza and I got the one with their house made ricotta (can't remember what it's called). I rated it 4.5 as I felt that their speciality pizzas could be a bit lower in cost. Will definitely be back!
My favourite pizza ever! Delicious. A bit expensive youll pay 20$ a person here. I had the margarita pizza. I do wish the portions were bigger but it is delicious. Ive been back a few times because i crave the pizza here. I think sometimes they are over zealous with the olive oil drizzle lolol but the pizza is good. There is one that doesnt have cheese though fyi. This pizza is more traditional/hipster. Cool art on the walls. Was a cozy date spot and i enjoyed the wine selection too.
My boyfriend and I recently went to Vera. We were able to get a table right away despite it being a Friday night. To start, we ordered the salads, the meatballs and the crustini. The salad was very fresh and light, and the meatballs were flavourful. Next we each ordered a pizza. I had the panna pancetta and my boyfriend had the spicy calabrese. Both were delicious and a generous size. We each ended up taking half home. To finish, we had the salted caramel pana cotta which was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Service was excellent. The only complaint I have is that they don't serve spirits, only beer and wine. Other than that we had a great experience and will be back!
This is honestly the best pizza I have ever had in my life, or at least the best pizza in Winnipeg. Vera has become our favourite place to dine out for pizza - good beer, not too expensive and refreshing simplicity. The interior is a little small but that's what makes it even more charming. Their Panna Pancetta is to die-for.
Vera makes some of the best pizza in the city. The prices for a whole pizza are quite cheap in comparison to other places. Yet the quality is above and beyond. Every pizza on the menu is amazing (speaking from experience) and they are made super quick.
If you like good, gourmet pizza (minus a lot of pretentious toppings), this is the place to go. This is not a place to get pepperoni and bacon for pickup. The menu is a bit small, but everything is good. The menu on here only shows the one page, but theres typically a page dedicated to periodic appetizers and specials, as well as a larger drink menu.
My favorite is definitely the Napoletana pizza (but it doesn't have cheese); it's very traditional and it's the only place I know of that does it properly without cheese. The wait staff is very friendly and thorough. Even on the busiest nights pizza come out quickly (Under 20 minutes).
In the summer you can sit outside, otherwise in the rain or winter be sure to get there early as they only can seat about two dozen people at most indoors.
Light, thin crust pizza with simple and fresh ingredients. The Margherita pizza was unlike any other pizza I've had in Winnipeg. Finished the meal with the lemon panna cotta, a classic dessert done right. $4 for a beer, a steal of a deal! The restaurant is quaint and packed every night, so make sure to get there early.
There is a lot of street parking all around this restaurant.
This restaurant has a few tables and can be tricky getting a table. It is so worth the effort to get a table!
The pizzas are great, the dough/crust is thin light and chewy. The cheese was flavourful and tasty. Overall I found these pizzas pretty close to what I got in northern Italy.
The staff is wonderful they really made our visit great.
Definitely go and eat in.
I have eaten take away here a few times but today I ended up on Vera's patio and had a lovely meal. Their pizzas are very unique yet completely classic. Each pie has a special flavour that always leaves me wanting to try another.
Don't be afraid to roll up, fold, ball, fork or canoe a slice! There are as many ways to enjoy it as there are pies on the menu!
Service was really nice, and friendly and definitely made us feel warm and welcome. It's great to see that there kitchen is visible to the guests and that staff was always busy and doing something. Never felt rushed, or hurried and I really appreciate that.
The music was a bit too loud, made it hard to have a conversation and it would be nice to see a bit more effort in the decor that matched the uniqueness of the food. With a little more elegance I would feel more comfortable with the price point.
All around a great spot in the village and I would definitely recommend eating here. Worth the money, but more of a treat than a regular spot. So go ahead, treat yourself 😊.
Ordered the Fungi and margarita pies 👌
Fungi if you like stronger flavor and for sure a mushroom fan
Margarita is a must try. If you don't like this, this place is not for you haha.its a staple.
Genuinely my favourite pizza place in Winnipeg. I recently went to Gusto North and they can’t even compare to Vera. The pizza is so rich in flavour and the salad was amazing. This is my go to spot for wood fired pizza!!!!
This place definitely deserves 5 stars for the quality of the food and service. They have amazing thin-crust pizzas and Meatballs, but my favorite is crustini! The prices are great and have a local homely vibe. and the Staff is friendly.
Great little restaurant! Went on a Tuesday night and was not busy at all. Server was friendly and helped with our selections. Ordered the Margherita and Salsiccia pizzas as well as the Crostini. Everything came fast but most importantly it was excellent! Going next week to try the meatballs and a couple of different pizzas. 5 stars!
I heard that this place can have lines down the street so we had to give it a try. Luckily it wasn't too busy, and we were even able to sit on the patio. Service was quick and we got the food quickly too. I'm a believer that the crust makes the pizza, and the crust is crispy on the outside and has a nice chewy texture as well. The ingredients tasted fresh. Not a heavy pizza, which is always good.
Id put this as one of the top pizza places in Winnipeg. The dough is extra thin and charred in all the right places. The most outstanding ingredient if the night besides the dough might be the panchetta, it was salty and extra savoury. Also have to say they are very reasonably priced. The salad was around 7-8 bucks and came out as a huge whopping plate covered in parmasean with a light lemon dressing. If you have room, I suggest the panna cotta with the thick salted caramel on top.
