My son and I popped in for a pop tart and ended up also getting a couple croissants, a cinnamon bun, and a baguette! Everything was so fresh and tasty. The cinnamon bun was amazing- one of the best I've ever had! We were able to sit on the patio in the sun and enjoy. We will definitely be back! Thank you.
I have had at least one of everything they have made to date! ❤ It has quickly become a staple in St.Boniface. I just moved to Arborg, MB and will make a point to stop in and have a treat whenever I am in the city. Hands down my favorite and most delicious bakery in the city!
Located not far from St. Mary's Cathedral, an area affectionately known as Winnipeg’s French Quarter, it was after touring the Church that the walk was made to La Belle Baguette, a time between Breakfast and Lunch finding the small Bakery quiet as staff brought forth new items from the kitchen to replenish shelves and racks.
Serving St. Boniface since 2015 and now with a second location in St. James, the Bakery’s goods also offered at a variety of local retailers, it was with a friendly smile that guests were greeted on entry, a bevy of choices creating tough decisions but the tiny female clerk happy to offer suggestions.
A place for both sweets and savories, one patron stopping by to collect Sandwiches for the office, it was opting for only the former that five items were plated and bagged, first bites of an Almond Croissant immediately causing pause as a result of cloying and excessively applied Almond Paste while a follow-up Apple Strudel Danish fared far better, though given its texture one might better label it a Sticky Bun.
Trusting next in Pate a Choux, a Cream Puff shaped like an Apple just put on display, those looking for La Belle Baguette’s best bite should not miss out on airy cream centered by stewed Fruit in dainty Pastry, though both the no-bake Bar with Date Preserves and a sticky Butter Tart enhanced by Raisins were also quite delicious.
Almond croissants are addictive, beautiful breads baked to perfection. Get there early - bread-of-the-day offerings are often the best options but sell out super fast!
A small bakery and café tucked away in old St. B.
It's a cute little place with excellent baked goods and helpful and friendly staff.
They have a variety of breads, pastries, and other sweet goods as well as some savory options, whether you're just picking something up or want to hang out on their patio.
It definitely has the French vibe that St B has is spades and it is one of my favourite places to stop by for my morning commute and pick up a sweet treat and a coffee.
Wonderful setting, and delicious food.
My partner and I came for lunch- we left full, and satisfied.
I had the BBQ Chicken panini, which was bursting with moist succulent chicken- not doused in sauce.
I also had the strawberry eclair, which was a delight of all senses- the pastry was crunchy on top, and soft on the bottom- and fresh strawberries were present through every bite. The cream was rich, but not too overbearing, and not too sweet. The strawberry flavour was present throughout.
The mini cinnamon rolls are decadent. Not too sweet. It is clear that a lot of butter was used in the making of these treats, which is very welcome.
You must check this place out!
La Belle Baquette was such a pleasant experience. It is a very welcoming, quaint, environment with beautiful pastries. I had the turkey and Brie sandwich for lunch on half a baguette and an almond croissant. The baguette was very filling and quite large. It could be shared with two people. The croissant melted in my mouth, it was amazing! I enjoyed eating outside on the quiet patio as well. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Everything I've had here lately has been delicious. In particular, I seem to keep going back for their chocolate croissants and various tarts. Everything is very fresh.
Simply EXCEPTIONAL. A quaint little boulangerie in St B with exquisite, well thought out, tasty pastries. There is something for everyone here! From savoury pretzels to decadent religieuse à la vanille, you will be back week after week. The almond croissants are the best I have EVER had - no skimping on the marzipan/frangipane filling. The lemon merigue tart is to die for, even for someone like me who dislikes meringue! The filling is silky, the tart to filling ratio is perfect, and the perfect swirl of meringue is toasted to perfection, yet gooey like a marshmallow. Exquisite.
I hope this place is around for decades to come.
Awesome! With an ever changing menu, fresh pastry, breads and baguettes! Definitely worth the trip the next Tim you find yourself in St. Boniface.
Am so glad I saw a friend on Facebook post about this bakery/cafe that's nestled in the heart of Saint Boniface. For being such a small place it was bustling with people. I had the apple Brie sandwich the flavours danced on my tongue, and then the fruit tart for dessert. Mmmm delicious can not wait to taste the goodies I took home!
I have been to this quaint St-B bakery a few times already, and have always been pleased with the quality and taste of their products. Compared to Le Croissant, they have decent opening hours and good selection throughout the day. The highlights for me have been the chocolate macaron (so fresh it melts in your mouth!), the bread pudding (maple goodness) and their new whole wheat loaf (very moist). You can't go wrong with a baguette as well. The best bakery in the area!
