Great The best I’ve eaten in Winnipeg serious I’ve been looking for a good Chinese food in Winnipeg for 30 years and I found this gem which is the only place I will go now to buy my food. The breaded veal is so good that I need to place 2 - 3 orders of it because I usually eat one just coming back home and I’ve never had a bad dish from there I’ve eaten there twice and I’m craving it now just talking about it so I’ll probably end up going there tonight but great you guys have to try it it’s it’s to die for really
Great food at a good price. Hands down Great World is our favorite for chinese dining! This plain and small restaurant serves up delicious Szechuan Sesame Chicken, Ginger Beef & Deep Fried Won Tons... to name a few favorites! If you are looking for fancy this is not the place for you.. however if you like excellent cooking, great service and a family atmosphere.. this is the place for you!
I always order food from Great World, it's always fresh and tasty, I have tried other Chinese food places and it never compared. They put a lot of pride in there cooking and are so friendly.
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in wpg hands down! Go for the hot honey garlic chicken it's delicious! There spring rolls are yummy too!

Can be quite good - if you know what to order!. Great World has been our go-to for Chinese take out for years, and has also been very enjoyable upon visits to the actual restaurant as well. I find the quality varies drastically depending on what is ordered with some clear hits and misses on the menu.
Hits have included: Squid in 5 Spice Salt (tender and tasty), Beef with Pea Pods (beef is tender, peas are done right and sauce is flavourful), Hot Honey Garlic Chicken, Deluxe Wonton Soup (good variety of bbq'd beef, shrimp, chicken, veggies and wontons - a favourite for ordering when I have a cold), and Lemon Chicken (very generous portion size, may be a little too sweet for some people though), Breaded Veal with Vegetables (tender veal with veggies and a tasty sauce) and Great World Special Chow Mein (nice variety of bbq'd pork, chicken, veggies and noodles - sometimes this one can be a tad greasy, depending on who's making it that day I guess).
Misses: Chicken Fried Rice (rice topped with shredded sandwich meat), Honey Garlic Chicken Balls (though these are great if you remember to order the sauce on the side - if you get them delivered they've turned soggy by the time they get to you if not), Sate Chicken (I'm probably biased having been to Indonesia, but their sate tasted nothing like I expected), chop suey ( bland).
Mostly I find Great World to be on par or better than other Chinese take out options. As with most places with such extensive menus, it's about mining out the good stuff.
Best Szechuan Chicken!!!. Not too sure what the other two reviewers are talking about but Great World is probably the best chinese food restaurant I've ever eaten at. If I were to phone a chinese food restaurant and the peron on the other end didn't sound chinese and barely speak english I wouldn't order from it. It's to be expected when ordering from a CHINESE restaurant!
I've been ordering from them for years now and no matter where in the city I live I keep going back because everywhere else pales in comparison. Their szechuan chicken is addictive it's soooo good!

Excellent Chinese food! Try the wonton soup or the mushroom egg foo young, terrific! Discount for pick up and free item for spending over $48. I've being ordering from them for years, will not go anywhere else! Definitely worth it!
The reason I didn't give it a five rating is that the portions have become a little smaller. Yes, I've noticed! Still, Don't hesitate to try! You will be impressed!
As always, picked up our dinner for 445 and it was hot and ready. Great customer service!! They forgot our chicken fried rice the last time and they went out of their way to call us and offer a free order on our next order. The food is always hot and tasty. Will never go anywhere else.

We have been ordering from this restaurant for a number if years now. The service has always been great on delivery. The prices are more than competitive and the food is great! Highly recommend them.

Haven't ordered from here in a while but their food was always fantastic back when I had the food delivered in the past.
Ordered from here for the first time last night! Excellent food!! So impressed! Breaded dry ribs were so tasty and the honey garlic chicken balls were fantastic! We will be back. So good!!
Dropped in after finding the restaurant we were aiming for was way too busy. What a find! Super food (Special Shrimps, Special Mixed Veg & Deep Fried Breaded Veal). Very good sized portions, friendly chatty service (suggestions). No hesitation recommending..
I've been eating here for more than 20 years. The food is consistently good. I still miss the pretty girls who used to work out front but the service is still good.
Service was very good. The only complaint I have is that their sauces could be a little thicker as they were quite watery
