This nondescript restaurant looks like a house but it is a charming and very clean restaurant. It has hoyne beer on tap and is reasonably priced. My partner and I both had burgers. She, the cheese burger and I the bison burger with yam fries. Both burgers are a couple of the best pub burgers we’ve both had in Victoria. The yam fries were the absolute best. Apparently the fish and chips are excellent and we will be back to give them a try!

Friendly, attentive service, nice decor. Some parking in back. Lots of choices on the menu. Prices seem reasonable for the quality you get. Had the steak sandwich with salad. Delicious salad, wonderful steak. My guest had the BBQ bacon cheeseburger, also very good. The fries are worth mentioning too as they rarely are. Pleasantly surprised and definitely will be back.

First visit to this quaint little diner. Not very busy when we arrived just after they opened, easy to seat 6 people. Food was simple but tasty. Service was great and prices reasonable.

This quaint little bistro is close to Uptown center. It has a simple menu, outstanding food, outstanding service and excellent prices to boot! The chef makes his own jam. I like that it is diner style food, there aren't too many tables and did I mention the prices?!?!?! I highly recommend a visit to this place. If you like simple, this is it. You can even score a beer or a spirit if the mood strikes.

First time going to the Uptown Bistro. Loved it and would return. Ordered their calimari which had a great spice to it (was so good) and no unpleasant fishy taste! Highly recommend you try this. I also got the chicken strips and fries. The strips were good, the fries were great. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Great meal!

The food was amazing. We had the steak and mushroom pie and sheppards pie. If we lived here, we would definitely be back.

I loved the food, the server was a sweet girl who was very helpful. Food was great for the price. Highly recommend for the price. I have one recommendation, rip down the white lattice around your patio and make it a bigger feature. Expose it to the sun it’s kinda dank, It would be a great place for after work drinks.

Updated: I can no longer recommend breakfast. I don't know what happened. It used to be a great place for a classic breakfast. Now it's like some experimental kitchen serving unrecognizable dishes. I tried the French toast, a simple dish of bread, eggs, and milk, fried and served with butter and maple syrup. What arrived was thin slices of bread absolutely drowning in what I can only describe as thick orange goo of some sort, with a pile of bananas on top (a generous portion at least). It didn't resemble French toast in any way. A good example of "improving" on a simple idea until it becomes a disaster. I really should have photographed it because it was unbelievable. The flavours in this dish are supposed to be simple and delicious. Whatever this was ruined it. By all means, come for lunch and dinner. The burgers are excellent, the steak pie is amazing, and the server is lovely. One of my favourites. You also can't believe the value. It's still one of the least expensive diners in town. But skip the breakfast as the chef seems bored with it and is trying to overcomplicate it. Earlier review below: Returned for dinner and enjoyed a wonderful steak and mushroom pot pie with a lovely flakey pastry crust. The service from Gurneet was friendly and welcoming.

This is a great spot for a home cooked meals done right! The food is always hot and there is a great selection of home favourites including shepherds pie, locally sourced hamburgers, beef pot pie with yummy puff pastry and several popular chicken dishes as well.
