Feels like a hidden gem! Went here at 530 on a Monday so it wasn’t too busy. Service was friendly, sandwich was great, strawberries fresh, beer is good but the happy hour menu is tiny.
The other reviews about the food being bad are odd, they must have changed things up for better!

i was expecting a bad experience when looking at the rating, but it wasn’t bad at all, other than being completely empty on a holiday evening. the greek pizza was perfect and they have a ton of fun cocktails, but the food seems overpriced. the service was really attentive, although this may be different at a busier time
This was recommended by a friend to visit while we are at the strathcona hotel for a wedding! Never had a French bulldog (kronenberg blanc and peach bellini) in a bucket before LOL 😆 The nachos were good, but topping weren't quite done underneath, it was still a bumpin' place!
I was visiting Victoria with friends for my first time ever for the weekend from Vancouver. We were invited to checkout Rooftop Patio, they were extremely welcoming and even though I heard how sick it was, I had NO CLUE there was a sandy beach ON the rooftop! It was very cool & IG worthy (we took LOTS of pictures lol). The watermelon steak salad was amazing, they had a really cool drink special (I forget the name of), and we took full advantage of their corona bucket deal. We had such a great experience we went back again that same night for pitchers of sangria and mojitos. All the tables were extremely spaced out, staff was on top of all covid protocols, we felt extremely safe and comfortable the entire time. I will 100% be visiting again and I highly highly recommend you to go check it out for yourself! 10/10
Bria was a wonderful server and made sure we had everything we needed and was so much fun! She learned everyone by name and could not have been more accommodating. The drinks were awesome too!!
Love the rooftop!! And this chicken sandwich on the menu 😋 is the best thing in Victoria!! Prepare yourself to be a little messy!! But it is so worth it to lick your fingers and feel at home lol Of course, who can resist cheaper drinks and great food with a view!!
The food and drinks were good and not too pricy. We had the artichoke dip, which was great and had big chuncks of artichoke, the chicken quesadillas and the pepperoni and mushroom pizza, which were both very cheesy. The buckets are a must! They are all tasty and come in a cute sand pail!
But it was so windy and cold even with the giant space heaters and glass walls. Our waitress was very nice and kept the drinks coming but we had to leave early becuase it was just too cold to stay. I would definitely recommend going on a day thats less windy or just avoiding it until the summer weather is here to stay.
Also note that there is a large flight of stairs to get up to the patio and if you aren't able to do stairs, I'd stay down at the wicket.

I will gladly sing the praises of pretty much every establishment located in and around the Strathcona in Victoria, but I don't think there's a better bar on the island to be in the summer months than the rooftop. There's very much a choose-your-own-adventure approach in terms of relaxing drinks, beach volleyball, shots at the bar... you name it. If you're not careful you'll spend the entire day here, which really isn't that bad of a worst case scenario.
