JJ Morgans: a friendly, family-owned restaurant. Love this place. Try one of the pot pies. Delish!

JJ Morgans is one of the last good home stow cookin joints where the owners are Asians and everyone knows Asians can cook. I wouldn't be surprised if they threw in a little msg to make the chicken more tender but hey it works! My waitress was a haggered woman very wise whose sole purpose was to refill my coffee when needed and feed me, the kinda woman that calls you sweetie would've once brought you to your knees in her prime. Get the chicken deep dish pot pie and be prepared to enjoy a meal amongst quiet sharply dressed seniors.

Much nicer on the inside than it appears on the outside. Good family restaurant, good value. Regular "American" food. Good for kids and seniors.

We went for the first time tonight with our two little kids. The service was fabulous and everyone was lovely to the kiddos (who were the only ones there). The food was food enough but the service and ambience as fabulous. I will go back with friends and family and recommend it to anyone for an inexpensive, simple meal with great service.

A Sunday Buffet for under $15!?!?!? For the ridiculously low price, it's pretty decent. It has all the fixin's that you're looking for. The quality is fair, but by no means amazing, but let's be fair for under $15 it's amazing. Most brunch buffet's are now selling for $25 on the very low end and $30 is more realistic. This is a perfect brunch buffet for kids! They charge only $1per year! If you're going on a date, this might not be the right place, but for a fair meal with the family, I would recommend it!

Good Priced Homestyle Food.. The breakfasts and lunches are all easily affordable for anyone, (including students), and tastes just like mama makes it! or grandma if you are so inclined. I have been there multiple times and have never had a bad meal nor has anyone ive been, and nearly everything is priced well below $10!
the Sunday buffet is busy and a cool idea. Some things are good, and other items are not, but thats a buffet for ya! Good place and good service! lots of coffee rounds by the waitresses!

Good food at affordable prices.... Had Canadian Thanksgiving turkey dinner here with my mom and we thought it was tasty, well-prepared and good value.

Also had the Sunday brunch sometime ago and was pleasantly surprised at the varied selection, but I was really into the pancakes, bacon and syrup. Mmmm!

The wine selection is also better than most restaurants with good info on what wine goes with what food. Affordable prices here too.

GREAT SERVICE. My family went out for a dinner and invited us. I asked,"Brannigans?" they answered, "No" a plavce thats way cheaper. So we went to JJ morgans. We got the 2 egg breakfast and an 1 egg. The one egg breakfast was only 4.95 for egg, 2 sausages, potatoes and toast. The portions were satifiying, the waitor was very nice. Gave my sister's son a colouring sheet like always. And jokes. Nice way to start off your morning.

A wonderful family eatery with moderate food prices. This place should be compared in the light of what it is - an old eatery serving decent food with a big menu targeting a family or seniors clientele. It is what it is - and there are many of these types of restaurants across Canada and the US, nothing fancy, nothing original but you can get a decent sized portion meal at a good price in a diner atmosphere. No pretentious people here, just older friendly servers ready to bring you what you want. I hope these places never die and we are stuck with only glitzy gimmicks and food that was only made to look at. Simple is sometimes all you want - and definitely all you need. M

This place is fantastic! Delicious food, friendly staff, and good prices. The Sunday brunch was well worth the $20 price tag. As a semi-regular visitor to Victoria, I can't help but wonder: why didn't it occur to me to eat here sooner? I remember seeing it from the road many times. I encourage everybody to eat here.

Very nice family restaurant. We went for the Sunday brunch with about 15 folks from our church. The food was good. The beets could use some help. Nice dessert selection. Yummy trifle. The staff were keen to see we had an enjoyable time.

The brunch on Sunday was fresh and plentiful even though we arrived a half hour before it ended. There was a selection of salad, fruit, breakfast items and also roast, scalloped potatoes and gravy. There was also a large dessert table and vanilla ice cream. You won't leave hungry.

At first I thought this place was terrible. The decor looked like a low budget restaurant set from the 70's; the decorations appeared to be obscure leftovers from the local pawn shop that nobody else would purchase. There was an excessive amount of choices at the buffet, but they were all either very plain, or overcooked. I wondered why this restaurant was so packed, but then I looked around at the customers, and it dawned on me. The restaurant was a sea of yellowing skin and white hair. For people in my demographic (<80 y/o), this restaurant is very mediocre, but it's positioned absolutely perfectly in every regard to appeal to really old people. I don't like this restaurant, but I can respect a well positioned business that knows exactly who it is trying to please, and has subseqeuntly shaped the entire customer experience to appeal to their target demographic. My grandma loved it.

J.J Morgan's is one of our favourite Victoria restaurants which has been serving delicious food for over 30 years. They have a great selection of snacks, entrees and deserts at very reasonable prices. Their daily dinner special is popular with locals. Schnitzel is a favourite of ours, as well as the Sunday buffet. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and homelike. Located on the south side of University Heights Mall, parking is plentiful and free.

My wife and I ate lunch there today (Nov. 17, 2014). The Beef Pot Pie was excellent - the best I have ever had there and the Caesar Salad that came with it was very good! My wife's Bacon and Mushroom Quiche was very good too! The service was good as always - feels like home. Well done!
