When we visited Victoria back in late June, we noticed that Victoria Harbour House was located right next to our hotel and decided to have dinner here.
The interior is a bit homey... Nice place for a romantic dinner. We started off with a Moscow mule (didn't look like any Moscow mule we've had before).
For our starters, we picked the lobster bisque (which was really good) and the French onion soup. We weren't overly hungry so we just grabbed a lobster tail as well as the seafood en croute which had an assortment of seafood baked inside pastry. Inside, there was a rich and creamy sauce with lobster, prawn, crab, and mushrooms. The seafood en croute is a can't miss if you come here.
Absolutely gorgeous restaurant.
The service we received was absolutely remarkable; the gentleman who served us was polite, humorous, and well educated. Dining at this location is more than a meal it is an experience.
I highly recommend a reservation as they open at 430 and by 530 the restaurant is near full. However, I made my reservation 30 minutes before attending on a Monday and they were very accommodating. While we went all in with several alcohol drinks, 2 appetizers, two generous and extravagant meals and two deserts, there are items available on the menu for every budget.
We ordered and throughly enjoyed:
STEAMED MUSSELS, SHRIMP SCAMPI, CHATEAUBRIAND, and CRÈME BRULÉE.
I was able to take a quick look at the kitchen on my way in and it was a spotless, well run kitchen. They do have a dinning area with water view as well.
You can feel the history as you step foot into this amazing establishment. They have been in business since 1980 and they have gentleman working for the establishment who have been with them for 40+ years.
I will definitely return and I highly recommend you give this gem a try!
P.s plenty of parking available! Free spaces on sight, in addition to street parking, and I noticed a parking garage across the street.
We enjoyed a very special family dinner here recently - 13 adults and 2 children. I cannot say enough about the service, ambience and attention to detail, the food, the wine - the whole experience. Thank you Harbour House and the lovely James for making this evening a special time and one that will be remembered by all of us.
It was very pleasant. The spaghetti Bolognese was okay, I've had better and made better. I thought it was overpriced for what we received. The Atmosphere inside was very nice and didn't match the casual appearance outside the building. Since it was Christmas, the windows were painted with Christmas scenes that denoted a more casual affair that was inside the restaurant.
4/5 and 4/6/23: It’s not often good cuisine meets stellar service and wonderful atmosphere! As a solo diner, I didn’t feel slighted and was seated at a window table. I had the spaghetti bolognese on day 1 and returned to have steak & prawns with the house salad on day 2. I was a happy grandma. Thanks, Julie!
Exploring Victoria, taken aback by the rich diversity in culture and history we were lucky to stumble across this hidden gem. Located only steps away from the Best Western Plus Inner Harbour hotel, the Victoria Harbour House Restaurant boasts a well rounded menu for varying palates.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was one of a kind... the personal touch and humor provided a welcoming atmosphere...Bob was fantastic!
The food was well prepared and the presentation was simple but perfect for this particular place.
We had the Escargot Bourguignon and French Onion soup to start... both very delicious !
We enjoyed the 6oz New York Steak with Lobster... the steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection!
We also had the Shrimp scampi which was served with a very delicate but flavorful white wine sauce... yummy!
Can't forget to mention the fantastic wine and dessert selection! The Crème Brulée was one of the best I've had, the Lemon Cheesecake with blueberry sauce was light and flavorful, and the Chocolate Mousse was dreamy!
Overall 4.5 🌟 for quality, taste, service, location, experience, and atmosphere!
The hours are 4pm to 8pm... we went as a walk in and were lucky to get a seat; I would recommend a reservation.
Celebrated my husband's birthday in this quaint and home style atmosphere. Waitress was attentive. Food was very good. Been in business for 40+ years. Would eat here again
We happened upon the Harbour house near huntingdon Hotel. The food was outstanding, I had steak Neptune, and my wife had salmon.
However the 🌟 star of the entire evening was our waiter "Bob " . Professional, but not stiff, I have rarely had a server I would describe ⁹ as his equal and none superior.
The creme Brule was also great and had high surface to volume ratio, resulting in more crunchy awesomeness. I'd let you know how the mousse was,but the Mrs devoured it. Cheers and best wishes
Good friendly service and attentive. They had a special for steak and lobster with a salad. The lobster was good but the steak was lower quality for sure. The bread was good though. You will need a vaccine card to dine in. They are only opened during dinner hours.
Had a magnificent time dining with my daughter! We made a last minute decision on this restaurant, and they accomodated our last minute reservation immediately.
We were escorted to our table, and seated at a window table looking out onto the harbor and a lovely park.
The service was impeccable! The food was great! The atmosphere was outstanding! We had the chateauxbrionne, with muscles & shrimp scampi as starters. As well as drinks from the bar, & desert! We couldn't ask for better service, or quality, at such decent prices! We will definitely be back next year! Love this place!!!
Sincerely,
Theresa Green
