Cactus Club Cafe Victoria

This place is one of our favourite for dinner. Salmon is excellent! My son also loves the pepercorn stake with mashed potatoes. The atmosphere is nice, calm, and there is always nice music. We love the lava cake for dessert! You have to try it at least once. Excellent service always.

The food could be better, but the service is good! I usually go to Cactus Club to get the usual steak frites since it’s a chain restaurant, they’re usually quite consistent. I got seated right away at this location (since it’s Victoria and came on a Wednesday, it was expected to be quiet). The server was great and was able to strike up some small conversations and gave us time to review the menus. I ordered a rare steak and the cook came back with a medium-rare steak (most of it was well-done and only some parts were medium-rare). The portion shrunk on the steak; I’ve come to Cactus quite often so I can tell when they have shrunk in size. I was disappointed since it’s my first-time getting steak like this. Additionally, the fries and the salad were good. The server came and checked up on us to ask how the food was going I told her exactly the problem with the steak and she offered to replace it, but we didn’t have enough time since we had to go back to the ferries within the hour and told her it was just feedback but overall, our experience was good. Knowing that we aren’t regulars, I didn’t expect anything from the server and just told her the truth about the food, she removed the steak from our bill and mentioned that since she couldn’t replace it, she hoped we still enjoyed it here so that the next time we visit the island, that we would come back. With this type of service, I’m happy to say that I’d come back since they didn’t treat us differently even if we weren’t regulars, they really didn’t have to remove it from our bill and they went above and beyond for their service.

We came for lunch and food was amazing. Was very disappointed with my bellini, as I expected classic version, but the one I got was frozen. It didn't taste or looked like bellini at all. I understand that different restaurants modify recipes, but in the menu it wasn't mentioned it's frozen. Also there's no kids menu. Staff seemed not very interested in customer satisfaction.

I came here last week for happy hour. The happy hour prices are reasonable. The food was good and came out pretty quick. Staff were friendly. Half of the outside patio was closed on a hot day so we had to sit inside but overall decent experience.

Service was great. Food was awesome, drinks excellent. Good job guys!!
