Passion8 Dessert Cafe

Passion8 is our favourite spot for Korean shaved ice. The portions aren’t as big as other spots like Snowy Village but the taste and quality are much better. Because of this you will be paying a bit more as well. We have returned and would definitely recommend.

I haven't tried any of their frozen desserts for which they are most popular for, have tried some of their cakes, including the Matcha and Valrhona cheesecakes, as well as their Red Velvet and Chocolate layered cakes. I quite enjoyed all the cakes, with the exception of the chocolate (which I found to be a bit bland and stale). Being an Asian-style place, the cakes were all lighter and milder in flavour compared to traditonal Western-style ones. I do find their prices to be a bit on the higher side, especially for the layered cakes. Although this isn't really my cup of tea, it is a good option for anyone seeking something a little bit lighter.

Matcha Cheesecake ($4.95):

This is more of an Asian-style cheesecake, and is more lighter and fluffier than the New York types of cheesecakes. Although I do personally prefer the latter over the former, I did quite enjoy this cake for what it is. It was quite fluffly, albeit a tad bit dry, and mildly sweet with a subtle hint of green tea flavour. A good option for those who don't like overly sweet desserts.

Gateau Choco ($6.75):

The cake itself was quite moist and mildly sweet. I didn't really care too much for the frosting however; I found it to be kind of stiff and a little gummy. Oddly, although it certainly looks very chocolatey, I seriously couldn't detect too much cocoa flavour at all; in fact, if I was blind-folded, I probably wouldn't have been able to tell that it was a chocolate cake. It also had a slightly stale flavour. Overall, I did find this to be kind of a disappointment.

Valrhona Cheese Cake ($4.95):

Like the matcha version, the cake here was soft, fluffy and light. It was mildly sweet, slightly tangy and had a good, distinct chocolate flavour that was missing in the Gateau Choco. Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Asian-style cheesecakes, I actually really liked this one.

Red Velvet Cake ($6.75):

The cake was soft and moist, and had a really nice tang. They were relatively conservative with the cream cheese frosting; as such the cake was not as rich as the versions that I've had in the past. Nevertheless, it was still quite tasty, and a good option for those looking for something a bit lighter.

Good ! I won’t say amazing but it was good ! I also ordered another chocolate cake which was so cute (see the picture ). The taste was okay-ish but it was full of ice at the base . Ice lovers would love it ! Again, portion size was huge so guys, order as minimum as possible or share .

Price is reasonable if I consider the portion size.

Real Tiramisu Snow Mountain | $14.50

I am craving for the bingsoo again, even though I ate it last week. Why I have not tried this earlier!? This is the first ever bingsoo with a real tiramisu cake and an espresso shot on the side. Tiramisu is my most favourite cake, and of course I must try it 😉 Though the cake is more on a sweeter side, the bitterness from the espresso just perfectly balances it out 😍 I love how they also add some cheesecake cubes to add extra texture to the shaved ice. I would recommend to share with some friends, because the portion is quite big 😳 I would definitely come back for this again ❤️.

A good friend had invited me out for dessert. I've heard good things about this place and was very excited. From start to finish the service is good. There's plenty of parking around that is free too. It's a small place so waiting for a table may be expected.

I got the chocolate bingso and did not expect it to look so cute LOL. I enjoyed it very much. My friend stuck with the mango bingso and said it was delicious. The place has air conditioning which is nice. I would definitely come back again to try the tiramisu.
