So yum. It doesn’t get any better than this. And it’s reasonable priced. Try it!
The food was fresh and prepared with care, absolutely excellent! The staff was very polite and attentative. 10 out of 10 will definitely go again!
Amazing hand made gyozas and ramen that stands out from your typical franchises here in Vancouver!
No MSG, made from scratch, you can tell this small family run restaurant puts a lot of passion intontheir craft!
If you like a home made style comfort food try this hidden gem out to change it up from the usual boxed in flavours of the other ramen joints
When it comes to ramen, there are many options in Vancouver, and some taste better than the others. For example, you can always see a long line up at Ramen Danbo regardless of time and day. Or some are hidden like this one, Gyo Para Gyoza & Ramen Bar. It is a spacious restaurant that is located in the heart of Kitsilano on the corner of West Broadway and Arbutus Street. Although the ramen bar is on such a busy street, it can be easily missed, but the handmade gyoza and ramen is what Brenda and I are coming for.
Great ramen, simple and effective menu with hand made and customizable craft ramen.
Gyoza yakimeshi and karaage all made to order with passion!
My friend and I both got super spicy ramen and gyoza! It was very good! Honestly some of the best Ramen I've tasted!
Freshly pressed garlic at the table was a nice touch!
Gyo Para Gyoza & Ramen Bar first opened in 1993 under the name “Gyoza Paradise”, on Thurlow and Robson. They’ve reincarnated as Gyo Para Gyoza & Ramen Bar and they’re now located in Kitsilano near UBC. This unassuming ramen-ya dishes out quality ramen that uses natural ingredients and traditional methods that have been passed down for generations. All soup broths are made from scratch using the purest water and finest ingredients.
The best craft ramen around, everything else is pre made sauces and franchise based operations in comparison to this real deal.
Not many places value themselves in making real
Authentic ramen from scratch so this is a nice hidden gem in Kitsilano amongst other competition that’s all prepackaged.
The number of seats in this restaurants is surprising smaller than expected but we got seated fairly quickly. The servers were generally quite attentive and quick. We tried the vegetable gyoza and some ramen. The gyoza was quite good, with thin wraps. My Shio Ramen was reasonable in taste, though the portion was a little smaller than expected.
Unlike many other ramen places around town, we were able to walk in and get a seat immediately (no line ups). The proprietor’s family comes from a history of ramen restaurants, dating back to Japan in the 1950s, and he prides himself on continuing the family’s legacy. Their menu is pretty focused. Ramen (with a variety of toppings), gyoza, fried rice, and a handful of sides like chicken karaage and edamame.
WOW. Best tonkotsu and shoyu ramen in town if you know what real food tastes like. They claim they don't use MSG and after drinking the entire bowl of soup, I wasn't thirsty or get MSG heart burn, which is what I got at Santoka. Their handmade gyozas were superb - easily the best in Vancouver. I can't wait to try the Yakimeshi (Japanese fried rice). It's all the rage in the Japanese community!
