Our favourite local fish & chips joint - crispy, light & satisfying batter that isn't very greasy on a nice chunk of halibut; fries are good if a tad greasier (this isn't healthy after all - despite what Peter Griffin may claim) & we enjoy the Pop Shoppe pop (lime rickey, cream soda, orange) - a product of Ontario!
The staff is welcoming & friendly & we like the rustic decor though we typically just take out. Highly recommended!

"Cozy little fish and chips place"
We were just passing and thought we'd give this place a try. The decor has a nice slight nautical theme but not over the top in-your face; More pub-like. The metal seats and ceiling gives it a cold look, but is warmed up with the wood tables and the smell of grease in the air. The staff seemed to belong in a skateboard shop more than a restaurant, but was very friendly and informative.
There was the typical selection on the menu, from haddock, cod, halibut, salmon, calamari, pickerel, fish burger, and something called a "fillet a fish". The sides to pick from are chips and salad; or the can put it in a wrap or sandwich. After much deliberation we ordered the haddock and calamari both with chips.
The chips were plentiful, a bit soggy, but not greasy. The fish was ok but only one piece. It was lightly salted but not dry. But the surprise of the meal was the calamari. Wow. It was soooo good. The seasoning was spot on, and not greasy. The calamari was cooked just right. We were fighting to see who ate the last piece!
As far as fish and chips places go, it's ok. Worth another try.
Excellent fish taco. I'll be back for sure. Also really enjoyed the chowder, it's so hard to find a tomato-based chowder and even harder to find a great one, so that was a nice treat.
What cute little place. The selection of fish is great! You can have it grilled or fried, fish & chips- style, with a salad. Or you can have it in a wrap or taco.
I ordered the grilled halibut with cole slaw. I really wanted the fish basket - shrimps, scallops, calamari, haddock, fries, tartar sauce and cole slaw, but I'm trying to eat healthier. Mmmmm!
The cole slaw serving is a bit small, I'd get a double order next time.
Service was quick and friendly, you can eat it or take out. I'm definitely coming back for that basket!!
