I had an appointment for daughter today. Once it was finished, I had to get to work for the afternoon and it was about lunch time. When you had kids, everything in life becomes chaotic especially when they are young. I failed to plan for lunch ahead of time ... So I needed to buy some lunch. I recalled there were some positive comments about "Mr. Jerk" in my neighborhood and decided to give it a try.

Mr. Jerk sets the bar high for authentic Carribean Cuisine. Jerk Pork, Rice & Peas, Oxtail Gravy and a Pineapple Soda for under 10 bucks. Portions are large contrary to other reviews. I've been eating here for 15 years.

I need my jerk!. I've been coming to this hole in the wall for over 10 years. A really small place that is take out only. Food is excellent and price for a lunch special with drink will cost you $6.50. Going to go and have it for lunch today!

The Jerk Pork is wonderfully tender with a nice bark and is somewhat lean. Often times you find a layer of fat and even skin. The less fat content meant the sauce was a little thicker and a bit sweeter but nicely well rounded. The sweetness masked the heat which was a bit of a disappointment at first. I was hoping for much hotter.
