Jess and I went to Yaohan recently to have dinner, and while walking through the food court, one particular stall caught our eye, and it was Sun Century Cafe. This caught our eye because of the new and modern look it had. We were wondering if this was a brand new food court stall, as it visually looked much better than the other stalls. The stone look on the side walls was actually wall paper, but it gave the stall such an interesting look that caught our attention. At the time we thought it was a new stall, but looking it up later, we would find out that this was actually the same food court stall that existed here before, but with a very refreshed look.
First was the Chicken Steak & Egg Breakfast (雞排煎蛋早餐), it came with ham, sausage (wiener), a slice of toast (cut in half) and a drink...all for $5.50, tax included!
Yaohan Center’s food court is full of places to get take out Chinese style dishes. I normally don’t eat these take out Chinese dishes because they are oily and we can make similar things better at home. I guess it’s just for convenience. It’s easier to pi
Another Hong Kong/Cantonese eatery. Unlike across the hall this has set dishes that are prepared when ordered. They have a large selection of meals and can add tea, pop or water to your order. Food is generally ok, the French toast is often good. Parking is available from each lot around the mall. Transit comes from the nearby Canada line stop of Aberdeen. There are also two bus stops nearby.
Had the beef noodle soup. Very yummy. Beef was tender with some nice fatty bits of flavor. I slurped up all the soup. Definitely would eat there again.
Very nice soup! Taste is good, Price is good!
Just like home!
I am from Hong Kong, and have lived there for 12 years, and I can confidently say that they are of most authentic, when it comes to HK style food.
From the all-day breakfast; satay beef noodles; their lunch sets and properly brewed tea.
Come, when you can't travel or is in need of invoking nostalgia, Sun Century is a very good choice indeed.
Only ever had one meal here, the curry beef brisket, which was delicious and probably one of the better Chinese curries I've ever had. Can't give this place five stars because I haven't tried the other items on their menu, plus the service was average. Worth checking out though.
Probably the last Hong Kong style cafe food. Recommend Stir fried beef rice noodles. It’s probably one of the best in Richmond.
I often come here for a quick meal, their entrees are made to order and most of them are very good, I recommend their beef dishes - satay beef or onion cumin beef, very generous portion for the price and on par to restaurant quality for a food court eatery.
