I suggested to try the lamb specialty restaurant which was opened about six months ago. It is located on MckKim Way and Garden City. The decoration is kind of traditional Chinese. Even the tableware looks traditionally Chinese. The server who served us is the owner of the restaurant. She is very friendly and recommended us the dishes which are the specialties of the restaurant.
i will strong recommend you try this place. the place is easy parking and clear. they do perfect job on the lamb。 the service is very nice and welcome. like the manager there.i will say the lamb is not tender enough. today going to try the lamb leg. i will post it later
The baked cake (sugar) was tasty but a bit dry; the soup was light and suitable for summer time; mix lamb pluck was a refreshing dish with a pinch of spice; the tendon was so tough that we couldn’t consume; the tongue tasted like beef and was lack of flavour but we did enjoy the texture; the highlight was definitely the rack, perfectly cooked and seasoned, will come back for it.
All in all, this restaurant doesn’t season the dishes heavily but instead they bring out the odor from the lamb itself which is brilliant because lamb does have a sophisticated flavour and aroma.

超愛吃他們家的蔥火腿😆❤️
Price increased a lot … average 30 to 50% more expensive than before. Inflation is coming for sure. Lamb skewers are tasty but very small portions.
We ordered lamp soup with noodles. It tastes delicious and authentic. The lamb kabobs are tender and juicy. Great restaurant.
I have been visiting Shine Valley whenever in the neighborhood, for 5+ years (at the time it was a booth in Yaohan). Although the lamb soup and baked cake have always been superb (best in town IMO), it's fair to say that price has gone up and portion down, especially in the last year or two. In fact, I was quite surprised when we came over last November and December.
That said, we all know this is mainly due to inflation and supply chain issues. Restaurants are hit hard, especially servers who mainly live on tips. Not trying to dismiss the other reviewers, just saying that let's have empathy and not blame each other -- it's the pandemic's fault. Also worth noting that, when I visited today, the portions have obviously increased and the new servers were quite courteous. I was barely able to finish my order and left satisfied. And no, I'm not 水军 nor do I know the owner or manager. I don't even live in Canada. Just an average customer who visited from time to time.
I understand that Shine Valley might have disappointed folks. Give it another chance, maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised.
