G men is a ramen restaurant located in a strip mall in Richmond.
I visited during lunch time, on week days, it was pretty busy. They had regular menu and lunch special combos which are mostly rice bowl set.
I tried their regular chicken soy sauce ramen. Broth was so flavorful, it had good amount of oil, I believe it’s chicken skin oil, chi-Yu? And that made this broth taste so much authentic. A lot of ramen places in Canada, do not have enough fat in the broth so it tastes kind of weak and it does not stay hot till the end. G men was like the ones in Japan.
Noodle was thin yellow wave noodle. It went so good with the soup.
Topping was pretty normal for this time of ramen. Cha Shu was really good.
My favorite ramen in general would be tonkotsu and seafood double soup with thick chewy noodle. but with this ramen I was quite impressed.
I’d love to go back to this place.
Excellent dining experience! The noodles and other dishes were just yummy! Good service, good food, but very limited seating. If you want to avoid the waiting time, I would highly recommend going there.
Great but too salty. I know ramen is supposed to be salty, but they confuse salty for taste. Quality ingreadient and service is always good. Price reasonable. Try the chicken is great.
I think my favorite ramen shop in all of Richmond. Very authentic and I love the Izakaya style atmosphere. If you come after 6PM, expect some decent wait times. Everyone wants to come here...

• I came during late lunch: simple menu, simple meals
• Shoyu is soy sauce based, Shiro is salt based choices for your ramen or the rich pork soup based
• Noodles are ok, half a piece of egg, 5-6 thinly sliced pork, green onions & lemon rind
• serving size is enough for 2 people to share
• Takoyaki: 3/5 the usual, the “tako” is a bit chewy I find...
• Gyoza: 5/5 nice crust on the pasty, sauce balances out the meat
• Service 10:10, one of the best I ever had. Servers are very polite, fast, efficient & respectful which I really appreciate. Thank you! Because of this, I had a wonderful meal experience.
This is my second time dining at G-men Ramen. The first time I came was 4 years ago, I did not like it and never went back. I thought the broth was way too thick and salty, I could not finish my bowl. This time, my opinion for G-men Ramen changed by 180. Not only did I finish my food, but craved for more! I think they really upped their game or maybe it is just that I ordered the right food. I came in for late lunch and it was not too busy (usually I see huuuge line up around their opening time at 5:30pm). Being one of the only two tables in the restaurant, the food came quickly.
A good place to have drinks with friends. Fast service and decent food. My go to is the Ankimo (poached monk liver) and the soupless ramen. But im so dissapointed that the chicken skin appetizer plate and the fried rice bowl is now gone. Please bring those back! I dont know any izakaya shops that serves fried chicken skin here in Van. I was quite satisfied with the food at G-Men. The ramen noodle soup was quite solid with a rich broth and toothsome noodles. Their staple small dishes, such as the Chicken Karaage and the Gyoza, scored pretty high for me as well. In fact for their sizeable list of interesting small dishes, I would like to come back here for an izakaya night if I’m craving for sake.
Delicious authentic ramen. I would eat there everyday if I could! The noodles are always perfectly al dente. Excellent quality control... food is consistently good. Their chicken karaage is very yummy! It's busy...there's usually a fairly long wait to get in, especially dinner time. I would recommend getting there shortly after they open to avoid the wait.
Takoyaki, $3.75: Since it was our first time here and wanted to try more of the menu, the four of us decided to split a couple of appetizers. We ordered the four piece takoyaki and this was simply delicious! It was drenched in delicious sauce and the takoyaki were a pretty decent size.
Gmen Ramen is a masterclass on how good ramen is done.
The broth is a perfectly balance and carefully walked path of rich and savory no matter the base you go with, carefully paired with the right ingredients.
I went with their peanut and spicy base and it was perfectly balanced with its fatty flavours and hest, the savory balance of the pork and base brought out its intense flavours.
Their noodles are made onsite with expert detail. These noodles are bustin with flavour and capture your broth in every bite.
Their menu is also easy to follow for first timers as they have recommendations on where to start.
The atmosphere and vibes here are also incredible, with Manga on the first shelf you see, multiple anime posters everywhere and mood setting music.
We absolutely loved our experience and recommend you come check it out too!
Cute, intimate ramen spot in Richmond. We arrived here around 12:30pm and there was no line up and the food arrived quickly. We ordered the Ebi Mayo, Porker Gyoza, RCMP & Tonkotsu Miso. All around the food was great. The pork gyoza had a nice light and fresh taste, the tonkotsu miso had a beautiful and rich broth and the RCMP had the perfect level of spiciness. The only thing we would probably change is the dollop of mayo on the ebi mayo dish. I think if it was spread evenly on the top with a little more flavoring, it would have been perfect - aside from that, the shrimp also tasted light and fresh! We have been here twice and both times the customer service was on point - we'll definitely be back again. This place does get busy, as there were people waiting by the time we left around 1:30pm on a Sunday, so plan accordingly!
This G-Ramen shop is the best tasting in Richmond, they have similar taste and menu like Gojiro Ramen and Butcher Ramen. Their tonkotsu is my most recommended ramen! Only thing can make it far better is to add ajitama on it. Also please allow credit card payment, cash and debit payment only is not convenient in this modern world.
Very flavorful broth, pork is tender, great bowl of ramen. the only complain I have is: there’s no bean sprouts/egg with the ramen. You have to add them separately (extra charge).
