Best Chinese food in all of ottawa! Must try the Szechuan crispy beef and their sweet tofu cashew dish. So damn good omg I could just eat it forever. All of their noodle dishes are delicious and their lemon chicken and dumplings are to die for. Also the owner and staff are so nice!
What a find, we feel so lucky to have found this place. Amazing food we had crispy spicy beef the spicy vegetables in peanut sauce both were outstanding . We also had Malaysian fried rice and Kung pow chicken which were good. The egg rolls are fantastic. The restaurant is good size and was full when we went approx. 6pm Friday. The waitresses are right there when you need something . And owner couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. We will certainly be back.
Took my girlfriend for dinner and we weren't disappointed. Food was SO GOOD, but ambience was a little awkward. Cheap, so thats a plus. Will definitely be returning.
Husband and I went in search of good Chinese food in our new city - Ottawa. With a great china town we didn't think we would have a hard time. This is a relatively small spot, with good atmosphere. The service was good and helpful with menu selections. We ordered 3 dishes: spicy beef, Malaysian fried rice, and a beef noodle dish (name escapes me). The serving size was excellent, the price very reasonable, and the taste great. We enjoyed all three dishes and the leftovers! We will definitely will return. Would definitely recommend.
Sooooooo gooooooood! Always get Wu si chicken or veggies and salt and pepper tofu! Haven't been disappointed yet always tasty and for a good price!
Great service, friendly worker. Food was good. Ordered the noodle with spicy beef and hunan dumplings.
Noodles, were a tad bit over cooked but passible, good amount of tender beef chunks, not spicy to me at all, soup I find to be missing something. Pickled mustard greens was used to top the dish. I'd give that noodle soup 3/5.
Hunan dumplings were well cooked, basic meat recipe, sauce was possibly hoisin based, it was salty but the dumplings were not drowned in the sauce because the dumplings were placed on top of the sauce. Green onion used to top the dish were dry, fresh would of made it a lot better. Not spicy at all.
So Good Restaurant lies just at the point where Somerset Street West begins to slope down towards Preston. I have passed by it many times and thought I should try it sometime but a friend recently recommended it to me and, as it turned out, her praise was well-founded….
Talk about great service. The owner sat down with us and explained some of the varieties (on the rather large menu). We followed some of the suggestions and the four of us shared several dishes and were satisfied enough to come back soon !
The first time I tried "So Good" - it was more like "so not good" but after a few years, and seeing a facebook post about their salt and pepper tofu, I had to try it again. The restaurant is small, it has a home-kitchen kind of feel to it and the menu is huge - so many items to choose from what to choose? (Please don't come here and order Vietnamese food though - you can just cross that section out, so that narrows down your options;P). The salt and pepper tofu is quite good, it's not very spicy, has just a little bit of spice, and it's not over-fried either so you can actually taste the tofu inside. What's more is the food comes out in about 10 minutes and the service is quite efficient. So Good is not my first pick for a Chinese restaurant though, simply because there are many that are bigger and have the same quality/better food. For example today, I had the salt and pepper tofu from Ng's Cuisine and they certainly outdid So Good. But it's not so bad as I once thought it was.

Food is AMAZING. Lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options. The atmosphere is not so good. I'd recommend take-out only unless you aren't looking for ambience.
I really enjoyed the food here. Perfect portioned food, fresh out of oven, and great location. I will definitely come back for more food!
Ordered some takeout recently within 15 minutes of close (2100) and everything seemed to have been prepared fresh.
Pictured is 107 on the menu, flat rice noodle with beef or chicken (ordered chicken) - it is also combined with Asian veggies which tasted fresh.
The noodles had great flavour and felt like the ingredients were very well combined relative to some other Asian fast food places where all the ingredients seem separate.
This particular dish uses the “So Good” sauce, which I believe tastes like a cross between garlic and general tao, very flavourful and a tiny bit spicy.
Would order this dish again.
4 stars rather than 5 as this dish was $15, a bit on the expensive side for a basic noodle dish.
Classic hole-in-the-wall Asian restaurant. Offers various regional Chinese dimmed and Thai. Has some dishes not usually seen (eggplant in black bean sauce. Menu could have been more concise ( I. r. Instead of listing four identical dishes with different meats, name the dish, and then show the meat!/seafood choices abailable forir. ) Would making understanding the vast menu easier to appreciate.
Very good service and food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken with Chinese green which is bok choy and Chinese greens which I love it was with garlic and a chicken broth well seasoned it was delicious fresh chicken was so juicy and tender.
My two friends on the other hand, didn't enjoy some of their food although I didn't taste it one of them ordered the spicy beef with rice and onions and he said the beef was too cooked and the dumplings he said had too much meat in it.
My other friend said is combination plate, the spare ribs were not tender.
I wanted to be specific to help the owners cuz I really want to go back and they just left a review with no details which is not too helpful. They used to go there and they liked it before so I hope they will come back with me.
Weirdly GOOD! I must’ve walked past this place 100 times and it was my first time trying it! Everything looked wild to me at the beginning, then strangely enough, every dish hit the right spots!
It’s very good!
Do not miss this restaurant! The name fits perfectly with the quality of food. IT IS SO GOOD. The service is wonderful, helpful and courteous. The small seating area can accomodate about 40 people, it is very busy over lunch and dinner. Do yourself a favour and make it a point to make this place your favourite. I have been coming here for over 15 years.
Great restaurant, really nice staff working there. Very fast and a ton of options. The Thai soup is the best there! The sauce is a little too thick from corn starch. Would be back to visit. Can accommodate big groups and also takes AMEX.
