Me and my brother are from Toronto, visiting relatives in Montreal. It was the only izakaya still open late this past Sunday. Even though we were a bit impatient about getting a table, the waitresses were very nice & accommodating to us. They also made recommendations for food for our relatives, whom are unfamiliar with izakayas. Lastly, the waitresses asked the manager/owner if we could buy a t-shirt, which we wanted as souvenirs. Great service from all the friendly staff here, would recommend & will be back when we visit Montreal again.
Really the best skewers I've had in Montreal. The price was surprisingly modest for the fresh well marinated meat that had me smiling with every piece. The atmosphere was very cozy and the menu had a good variety of selections. After my meal, the chief kindly came out to say thank you to us! Definitely a must try because you're probably going to be coming back again and again and again.
I have been at Otto since the summer 2016
The chef never stop amaze me with his cut of sashimi.
The fish are always melt in my mouth - maguro - yellow tail are my both favorite.
I also love their selection of plum wine - which we cant find in saq. Its sweet but yet elegant (a bit expansive though)
Sometime we just dont want to spend too much money - their lamb and chicken yakitori always do the job.
Not to mention their Japan curry or the otto gamjatang (soupe) are the best to end the meal.
We also love the love from their employes - such of nice owner and professional waitress <3
