Food is deeply intertwined with culture, and culture cannot exist without people. During my recent dining experience, I forgot to ask for the name of our server. However, I must mention that she treated us like her own family and ensured that we received the same level of service as everyone else. She even went out of her way to share Chinese culture with guests from other nationalities. I overheard her telling the other table about Chinese-style candy, and it was heartwarming to see her spreading cultural awareness. I definitely will be back here, not only for the food but also for the people and atmosphere. Thanks
Lovely and delicious restaurant! If you're looking for a fusion food experience, top notch service, quick but quality food, come here! All the items we had ordered were very tasty. The spicy dishes are nicely balanced and not over powering. The space is well used and very clean. Be wary about the amount of food you order, they are generous with the portions. The dishes aren't overly expensive and you'll leave a happy person!

This spot is in my top 3 best Chinese restaurants in Halifax. A family-run operation, the service can feel like you're over at a friend's house with playful and informative suggestions. I usually get sauteed pork with jalapenos, cumin lamb, chestnut chicken, and mapo tofu. I really recommend going here with at least 4 people so you can get a bunch of dishes and try everything. Having just one dish would be a little underwhelming, so bring friends! Coming here for Lunar New Year is really special, they do Cantonese BBQ duck, a memorable experience.
We came on the opening day so it was extremely busy (as to be expected). Even though we did end up waiting a while for the food, it was well worth the wait. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were generous. The staff was really busy as the restaurant was never not full but we're all very friendly. The prices were on point and the venue was very clean. We will definitely be coming back.

5/5 stars! Hong Yun's food, atmosphere and customer experience, all in unison, is namely one of the best in Halifax. My Chinese friend said their food reminds him of his hometown. The Red's customer service is somewhat Asian style, meaning they might not pamper you with "how's everything?" every 15 minutes, but their staff are available whenever you have questions, comments or requests. With international friends I came to eat here too and we always had a great time here. No need to say I am a regular to this restaurant for several years in a row. Chicken dishes may have bones but that's Chinese style cooking; ask before ordering! But try their "Beef with eggplant" with some rice. Highly recommended.
Extremely authentic place with lots of Szechuan dishes. If you try some of the less familiar dishes you will not be disappointed. One such dish worth trying is the Szechuan sour pickled fish soup. It is absolutely delicious!!!
It is a convivial place where style of service reflects the idea that plates will be shared and enjoyed amongst all. Not all dishes arrive at once necessarily but they need not. The food is so delicious you will want to savor it.

I always come here and have been for a while. The portion sizes are pretty large, lots of indoor dining space and a lot of options to choose from on the menu. The golden fried tofu is a great appetizer to share with friends and family!
