The service is amazing from start to finish. One of the new managers checked in on us to chat and ensure we were doing well. My partner and I enjoyed every dish we tried and are planning to come back again for more great eats. The cocktails & desserts were wonderful as well. Beautiful spot!!
Had a really awesome time with a group of friends. TMS has revamped their menu substantially and it shows. Really impressed with the quality of the food vs a year ago and the service was excellent!
This restaurant has changed management. It is wonderful. Our server MacKenzie was attentive and prompt. We ordered the calamari and I was pleased to see tentacles included, they have always been my favourite and a lot of restaurants do not provide them. The lobster bao bun was beautiful presented but for the price point needed more 🦞. The pork belly bao did not disappoint, it is a do again.
Cocktails are inventive and delicious.

I went here last night for dinner, and my expectations were not only met but exceeded. The atmosphere is lovely, inside or out on their patio which had to be one of the best patios I have ever seen.
The food was just as impressive, I found the portions to be generous and the menu had plenty of options especially with varying price ranges. Their dessert is some of the best I ever had, and I see myself going back just for a drink and some of their tiramisu often!
However, most my astonishment goes toward sthe amazing service. The host, Rohan (if that is spelt correct) was really kind and acommadating to my preferences, I also saw him assisting his peers throughout the two hours I was there. My server Emily was super friendly and made some great recommendations for someone who can be a little picky, and she checked in consistently without being overwhelming. The gentleman Malcolm/Malcom who I assume is a busser was also extremely attentative and a delight to speak to.
I recommend this spot to anyone, be it for the bar or dining experience, the Mercantile one of my Halifax favourites!
Hands down the marchantile is the nicest place in Halifax. The food is amazing, the staff are super friendly and the dessert is exceptional!!!
This place has set the high bar for us, having recently dined at fine restaurants in Boston and NYC. What put the service over the top was I noticed the female waitress who took our initial drink was not the same who delivered them to each of us in our sitting spots without any confusion. Then, the main meals were delivered to each of us by a man, who never interacted with us before, and yet placed each dish in front of us flawlessly without questioning who had what dish. Just went to show us that the back of the house is in great coordination with the front and they delivered impeccable service.
I recently had a business lunch at the Mercantile Social. It had been a while since my last visit and was really pleased with both the food and service. We shared several appetizers as a meal, all very tasty. Jessica was our server and she made us feel welcome and at ease. I will definitely be back and will be happy to recommend this spot to others.
