Tawa Grills Dishes are so flavourful and Delicious, it’s a taste sensation. The butter chicken, the Pakoras, and the panner dishes are Devine.
This place has the best lunch buffet in the city, and the price can’t be beat. The service is also fast, and friendly.
Since Indian establishments are few and far between in Halifax, it’s good to have a Restaurant as good as Tawa. You have to go!
Sweet Mother of God, Tawa grill is the ticket!! Good service, good price, gooooood food! Eating in gets you more than enough food, but if you order takeout THEY GO ALL OUT and give you enough to eat for two days. The combo plate comes with an entree, rice, naan, and a side of Channa masala chickpea curry. I go for the butter chicken as the entree every time. For like two bucks more, you can get an extra naan and substitute any entree instead of the chickpea curry, so I go for the delicious kadai veg curry. Kinda spicy but delectable. I recommend this place if you like Indian food. It's awesome. The mango lassi is small but has a very nice taste, it's like a treat. The veggie pakora appetizer is great too. FIVE STARS.
I know being a reader you’d like to know about the food before anything.
Here it is,
We had a great experience and I suggest to go for it without a second thought.
We ordered
Tandoori Chicken - I am fida. It was super tasty
Garlic Naan - Excellent
Lamb curry - Quantity more than expected and very good taste
Cheese Kulcha - Good! worth trying new but be aware of cheese which fills stomach and you can’t have your favourite dishes.
Basmati rice - not 100% cooked but eatable. It could be the issue of that particular day.
Wanted to try Biryani but cheese kulcha turned down the plan.
About the environment and service - The best!! I have to mention that all the employees are great with their service but the employee Sangeetha responds to everything with her beautiful smile.
Make sure you reserve a table before you go otherwise wait time may exceed 30 mins.
We entered this restaurant without a pre plan. We were hungry roaming in Halifax waterfront and food court was closed.
I have been living in Halifax since 1 and half year and I wonder why none of my friends suggested this!
First visit to Tawa Grill!
Food is truly delicious and quantity served worth the price! Full portion Curry serves 3 people! Staffs are humble and service is quick!
We love to dine again n this place on favy list!
Only place in Halifax where you can get authentic Indian taste for both veg and non-veg items.
>Very friendly service
>Reasonable price
> Authentic taste and good quantity of food as well
Biryani gulab jamun and chai were really good although they could ask about segregation of plain and masala rice and add some potatoes too :) but overall really good.
Plus it's located inside the market maybe put a sign outside that tells people just that...

Personally I loved their food, proper spice level with optimum taste so I must say they serve Good food, Quick Serve with decent customer service. I would say try their Hakka Noodles and Lamb Biriyani.
I have tried about a dozen Indian restaurants in Halifax and this was by far the best! I went on the recommendation of several co workers and they were right! Fantastic tasting food and portion sizes are very large for what you pay. It was very busy inside but we got a table quickly within less than 10 minutes after being told they were full and would call us as soon as a table opened up. We ordered 6 different dishes to share and they were all amazing. The portions were so large we have lots of leftovers. I will definitely return.
Its near the Halifax harbourfront parking which is very convenient. We were 2 and ordered hakka veg noodles .The quantity was good if you wanna have good filling light meal but can order a side dish too for proper meal. The service was quick and the noodles were delicious. Would visit again.
Absolutely amazing, best Indian food I've had in Halifax so far! Staff is super nice, prices are great, food is DELICIOUS, and very filling/great portions. Ive tried the butter chicken combo, curry chicken combo, and the dal makhani(?)Sorry I can't remember how to spell it. and they were all fantastic. Anyways, 10/10 you should absolutely try it.
The food here is utterly delicious. We started going out for dine in recently at this restaurant and I must say they surpassed our expectations. Their chicken Biryani was fresh and delicious and chicken fried rice was yum yum yummy. This is now one of our favourite restaurants in our list. The staff was very friendly . Thanks for your great customer service.”
There are two entrances, if your visiting first time may be little bit puzzle to find
But it was real fun. public and paid parking nearby, do not park on no parking places here, you might end up getting ticket
Wohoo! This place would be the most pocket friendly Indian restaurant in Halifax. A taste that every one like at a rate that everyone can afford. My personal favorites would be Chilli Gobi and Hakka noodles. One of the best in the town. The quantity they serve is also pretty good.
Prefer dining here in person. More quantity and tastier food. Also, their delivery is pretty expensive. They charge about $6 per delivery.
Do try their combos. Good quantity at a really cheap cost. I hope they bring back their all you can eat plan.
