This is my not just my favourite Japanese restaurant in town, but my favourite restaurant period. The prices are reasonable, and you can get a good meal for under 25 dollars. The Ramen is the best in town, and all the appetizers and donburi are great options as well.
Amazing food. We were visiting for three nights and spent two of them in this restaurant.
The service is great, the people are welcoming and attentive to your needs.
We ordered sushis and teryaki meals which included a soup and a house salad.
The dressing on the salad was so good that we had to buy some to go.
I highly recommend the place, great quality food, great service and great prices.
A real authentic Japanese restaurant which might be the only one owned by a Japanese chef…? It is kind of hard to find on this touristy strip in downtown but it’s worth walking through the whole length of the short strip to find their door. Sushi is freshly made and tastes very good. The service is also excellent. Good, thoughtful pricing and anyone can afford their fine cuisine.
It’s definitely a hidden gem in Halifax. Delicious Japanese sashimi and tempura. It’s a cozy family run restaurant in the heart of Halifax downtown. As a parent, I was so delighted to see their young teenage kid to help out serving us during the prime busy hours. My favourite was their steamed egg custard, while the butter fish sashimi was impressive too. Wish them every success.
Tried this restaurant for the first time this week. I can't wait to be back in Halifax and get to go again- the sushi was incredible. I have tried Miso soup many times and it has never been my thing, but I tried it again here and loved it. Spicy Salmon was my favorite, but the teriyaki was a very close second. They also subbed out tempura yam for cucumber on the lunch special with no issue- thank you! We will definitely be back!

A family run restaurant that really goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good time and a full belly. When we went, they were sure to find us a patio spot and checked in on us often to make sure our we had everything we needed. We got dragon rolls, the silver combo, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, beef donburi, buckwheat spring rolls, and dumplings. The food was all fresh and delicious. Definitely going back there for lunch again!
It was nice to be able to enjoy the taste of Japan in Halifax. It's a really delicious sushi restaurant. I'm going to revisit with my family.
Food was fresh and tasty, it felt authentic to my pallet. The chirashi included a scallop that was mind blowing. Price was very reasonable. Delicious saki and gyōza!
Went there for dinner, it's a proper experience, it's a family run business, if you happen to see kids in there, they were quietly doing school work and playing games, while this might not seem normal, coming from a family business myself I can feel what this place means for them. Imagine putting your family on display along with your profession, you need to have pride in your work to pull it off.
