This place is hands down the best!!!! Great staff, great owner, great atmosphere, great food. My husband has said he would choose Tarek's shawarma plate for his last meal.
Love this place so much that I drive from Dartmouth just to get take out; highly recommend the hummus and half/half plate.

A very good place, excellent quality, good price, card payment is not accepted but there is an ATM inside, they give you a small complimentary seafood or pea soup. They are delicious. I will definitely return several times. It is a gem for foodies

Went here on a lunch break from a course I was on. The place was very busy but the food came out quickly. I took my meal to go as there were no empty tables but it was a very delicious authentic meal. The portion size was good.
Be advised it is cash only, however they do a a atm machine next to the counter (it charges a $2 service fee). Also it’s a bit confusing to pay as you line up on one side to order food and then went to a different line to pay.

My wife and I dined there several weeks ago. It was one of our best eating out experiences yet. The food was delicious and healthy, service excellent and fair priced for the portion size. This is our new Go To restaurant in Halifax.
Great food, amazing atmosphere. It looks a little old school but that's part of the charm. The family / employees that run it are a step above the rest, you just feel welcome walking in. If your unsure what to get, get the half and half plate or the beef pita.
Absolutely delicious food and great customer service. My parents wanted to try alittle of everything so it was suggested we order the Dinner combo for 2. There was beef, chicken, perogies, shrimp and calamari (calamari was additional because we wanted to try it as well). It came with 3 kinds of salad (tabouli, bean salad and another salad). Also had pita with hummus and tazaki. Plus… we were given a small dish of free lentil soup which was delicious too. The beef and chicken were tender and tasty. The prawns were large and fresh. The calamari was tender and cooked perfectly. BUT the rice was my favourite… the rice was beyond delicious. I could eat the rice everyday. Large and generous portions of food. $55 for dinner for 2. It fed 3 of us and we were stuffed… and there was food left over. Tarek gave us some falafels to take with our leftovers.

I love Tarek's!!! ❤️ I took my nephew out for supper because tomorrow is his birthday. We had the most delicious food!!! Yum yum yum!!! Everything was amazing and yummy!! I even tried a new salad... big surprise... I loved it!!! Yum yum yum I love everything about Tarek's!!!! This was probably the zillionth time going in the last 20 years!!! I had the mixed plate and my nephew had the seafood plate!! Yum yum yum!!! We both loved it!! I knew he would as well!!!
Tareks is the place to go in the North end. It's still family owned, and never lets us down. It's cheaper than Subway and MacDonald's and way better for you. Good menu selection! Parking. Eat in with beautiful painted tables, they usually offer a free small homemade soup if you eat in. Take out is a breeze and if you have any allergy issues they can tell you, or hold it off no problem! If you have never been you're missing out! If you have them you know it's a fantastic place to eat ethnic food. Most of all friendly amazing staff!
If I could give an extra STAR I would. Staff are amazing, such a friendly atmosphere, they chatted we me as if I was a true friend, high recommend anything on the menu and their soups are amazing. Had there Philly Cheese Wrap today and took an extra one home and my son loved it too.
A great experience. I saw couples who seemed to be regulars coming to get a midday meal. The menu is all unique items; there is nothing to correspond with the Subway two doors away. You feel as if in a Mediterranean cafe, say, on one of the Greek islands. Don't come expecting candles or a waiter in a tie. But the food is simply excellent. Hard to know where to start with the menu. Just try one and go from there, perhaps. Take a picture of the posted menu so you ll be ready the next time you happen in. By the way, bring cash. The cafe opts out of Mastercard and the others, and there is no debit that I noticed.
