Food was great, tasted fresh and had good flavour. Server was awesome, we were well tended to and checked on. I wish there were more vegetarian options that aren't chili, and that they had hot sauces available. The jalapeño salsa I was offered instead was absolutely delicious though.
Edit to reply: As mentioned, our server was great. She did mention the fajitas as well as the enchilada. I still would have liked more veg options that aren't chili. Maybe a bean and cheese burrito, sweet potato, etc. This was a positive review, we all enjoyed our meals. You can take the feedback or leave it, but don't blame your server. She's a credit to you. She did great.
Excellent service and accommodation, prices are very good. Food is authentic as well. Must go spot in Aylmer. It is always busy but expected, parking is tough but that normal for all of old Aylmer businesses. If you want proper Mexican food this is it. Great for families, couples or group gatherings.
Very please atmosphere, staff were, friendly and always greeted with a smile. The food was very good, we enjoyed our evening dinning here. Would definitely recommend!
Loved every aspect of my visit. Such a good place to go to celebrate your birthday! The server was amazing and great with my kids. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the drinks were good, too! Will definitely be back!
Great atmosphere with plenty of decorations and great music. The food comes out piping hot and it is always followed with amazing sides. Beautiful drinks are also served here, the mojito is amazing and the chimichangas are super tasty! Definitely a hidden gem!
Been at the Bistro Mexicana a few times over the Summer and Fall. Food and service is always excellent, and we really enjoy the one-man band on Thursdays. Prices are very reasonable also. I always order the 4-beer bucket special. Really happy to have this gem in Aylmer. Almost forgot, they have the best patio in Aylmer. A+
We drive 45 minutes to eat here. Great food. Great tequila selection with knowledgeable bartender. The entire staff is welcoming, nice, and they all have good personalities. There's live music weekly and there's a beautiful patio facing the park with a water feature and painted murals.
They also usually host a little market before Christmas in November.
Last time we went, we talked about how it reminded us of Mexico. The tequila had us seriously considering buying a vacation property there...

Under the butternut trees. One of my favourite summer patios in old Aylmer, lively, serving authentic Mexican fare alongside satisfying cuisine peasante Québecoise, and featuring ice cold Mexican beer and frozen cocktails. The high spreading branches covering an expansive patio feel like dining under palm trees, creating a cool environment on the hottest days. The young, attractive staff are helpful and welcoming, and weekend evenings often feature a live band. As far as I can tell there are no reservations so first come first served. Minus one star due to the VERY slow kitchen on busy evenings — it seems they are not properly sized for the combination of in-dining and take out orders. If you go at peak hours, be prepared to relax and chug Coronas for 80 minutes while enjoying the music before eating. There could be worse fates.
Nice place. We sat outside for a drink and an appetizer. The patio is great - lots of space, with live music. The service was courteous and friendly. The food was good - it looked like the servings were fairly generous. It took a longer time than expected for our one appetizer to arrive, but that’s alright.
I’ve enjoyed many Mexican restaurants and this Bistro Mexicana isn’t bad at all. I enjoyed the jambalaya and the Grand Patron drink was soooo good. 😆👍☺️
March 16/2022 I revisited Bistro Mexicana and sat inside for once. Previous visits have been in the summer. It was very pleasant and the food was great as always! Our server Natalie was very friendly and personable. Thank you! 👍😎
