The Thai Soup #17 is awesome, the fried rice and the raw Meat are good too. Chicken curry is great. Not a fans of the Pho. Overal good for Sunday lunch
Have to admit I am surprised this place does not have a higher rating. I may be being biased but I have come here every Friday after work for the past year or so to get 2 orders of the #28 beef vermicelli bowls for me and my wife. Never once have I been disappointed by the quality of the food or the welcoming I get when I come in to pick up the order. The ladies who pick up the phone already know its me when I call in to place my order. Although I do not dine in I see the attentiveness of the servers and the food is great. Is you already could not tell how much I like ordering #28 you should give it a try
The first time I had been to PhoXpress was nearly a year ago and as a result of poor service and poor food, I didn't want to go back. I decided to give the place another try as it's such a convenient location from my house and I am so glad that I did! My husband, two daughters and I were immediately greeted with a warm smile from a young lady at the restaurant. Despite it being a busy Friday evening, service from her was great, she checked up frequently without over doing it and as I mentioned earlier- always had a warm smile on her face. She even made jokes and compliments towards our younger kids which was refreshing since most servers roll their eyes at loud young kids. We had a hard time deciding what to eat as we usually do not eat Vietnamese food but the server was very helpful and all the food she recommended tasted amazing. Nonetheless, very happy with the quality service we got from the adorable server we had plus the food!!! We will definitely be coming back more often.
Great food, price, environment, portions!. For vietnamese food there are four qualities that are hard to find altogether; taste, price & hefty portions all while not looking like a restaurant stuck in the 80's. I feel like PhoXpress is one of the only places in the city that achieves all four in good amounts. For appetizers I like the green onion cakes and the lemon beef. The lemongrass vermicelli bowls are surprisingly good and I haven't been able to find them anywhere else. The northern and central pho are good too. My girlfriend doesn't really like vietnamese food so she orders the "sizzling" dishes that come on the cast iron skillet, she says the shrimp with brown bean sauce is delicious. I agree with some of the earlier reviewers here that they had a rocky start, I was not impressed. But since then the service has been moderately good to very good.
Great addition. Good customer service with servers who can actually speak English! Food portions are fair, my girlfriend had the 6 colour vermicelli bowl and didn't even finish half of it. I ate some of hers and the meat was very flavourful. Only complaint is by "vegetables" it comes with lettuce, carrots and bean sprouts. The server was nice and recommended adding broccoli and cauliflower the next time we go (I think for extra $$). I got the "Central Vietnamese Noodle Soup" which was very flavourful with lots of meat and noodles. It was a little too spicy for me though. Everything on the menu was $10-$15 which seemed reasonable for the portions we got.
Phoexpress. I have gone to the restaurant a few time trying both the pho soups and rice dishes. The food is hot fresh and tasty. The staff has friendly and prices are reasonable for portion sizes.
