Went in to pick up lunch. Was about quarter to 12 and was only one in the place. The staff member who served me did not seem too happy or friendly. Ordered the Brisket with no bread. Asked for tomatoes instead of the bread but he said they were out. Would have preferred brisket to be a little more well done, just a personal preference. Put the beans and coleslaw on top of brisket to eat which was good.
The food is great, service is awesome and the staff is very friendly and helpful if you have any questions about bbq'n. Would recommend giving it a try.
This place was a gem! First of all the decor and atmosphere are definitely fun! The service we received was great, super friendly and fast. Had a nice chat about beer and some good recommendations for the beer they have on tap. I ordered a full rack of ribs, which was massive, and the ribs were really tasty. Really enjoyed all my sides as well, especially the fries which were fresh and very well seasoned. I will be returning again!!!
I've never actually heard of this place until I stopped by sobeys next door today and decided to get lunch while I'm here. I ordered the brisket meal and a pint of beer which came to $31 with a tip. The food was served in less than 5 minutes and I was impressed with the size of the meal. The beans were honestly the best I've ever had, I wanted more! The coleslaw was ok, nothing special but not bad same with the cornbread. I was surprised at how good their fries were, apparently you can get homemade gravy to go with them but I'd skip the gravy and enjoy them plain. The Cajun spice they put on them is so good, they were hot and crispy and just like the beans I wished it came with more. The brisket was awesome, I couldn't actually use my fork to pick it up unless I scooped it because it was so tender and just feel apart. It could use a bit more seasoning, lout with the BBQ sauce it was really good. I'll be back to try something different and am really looking forward to it! This place is well worth trying.
Great food and service! Definitely would come back again. We had the calamari and rib ends, both cooked perfectly with good portion sizes. Thanks for the experience!
A friend and I dropped in for a late dinner. The service was great, the food was just as good. You must try the beef brisket if anything. It was tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The pulled pork poutine was out of this world. The key to an awesome poutine is the fries and they got that down! The fries were nice and crispy till the end while the cheese was oozy and the pulled pork, perfectly cooked and drenched with a sweet BBQ sauce! Was yum-o! We ended the meal with a bourbon pecan pie. It had this ridiculously amazing bourbon caramel drizzled all over. I had to stop myself from licking the plate! Met the owner and she was a lovely lady who was happy to answer all our questions. But the best part of it all was that we were there for the loading of the smoker and we could smell the smoker going throughout dinner. Got all our senses going! Overall, a really great place for affordable and fabulous tasting food. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
I have no idea why the bad reviews are about.....went into today for lunch and split the rib tips that came fresh out of the smoker. I asked if they had gravy for the fries and said unfortunately no, but you will love the BBQ sauce for it...was completely corect!
Fantastic food..will be back
Maybe the other negative reviews were done by individuals that think there foodies
Not sure why this place has bad reviews we had great device great food. Will be making this a regular stop. Had the rib tips, fresh from the smoker. Could not imagine any better
Not to long ago I noticed that they were under new mgt so I thought I would give them another try. I still think some items are very overpriced their sandwiches are a pretty good value I have been twice in the past 2 months. Both times very friendly service and the food was hot and fresh.
Brisket sandwich is my go to choice. Tender and tasty
Fast service of quality in house smoked food. Fries nicely seasoned. Good coleslaw (which i finished my serving, and I dont like coleslaw!!) Baked beans are really tasty too. I had the burnt ends sandwich, flavorful and not dried out
Visited this quite authentic place for dinner with another couple and we were recommended to share a platter "Memphis feast" which had plenty of choices and quantity of food for a solid leftover lunch for one person. Owner was great in creating laid back atmosphere and treating us with some amazing desert! I will definitely go back very soon!
Let's talk about the food first. It is fantastic. All of it. Everything they have on their menu is very good. We like to go with a few of us and order a large platter so we can sample as much as possible. Servings are large.
The place is clean and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Customer service is outstanding. We were there one time with my granddaughter and she asked if they had any chocolate milk, which they didn't. The owner, I'm assuming, actually walked across the way to Sobeys and bought chocolate milk so our granddaughter could have it. Now THAT'S customer service.
I Love BBQ! Thought we'd try this one and we were not disappointed at all! We had the shrimp for an appetizer and it was delicious. I had the brisket meal and my wife did the pulled pork sandwich. Every single bite was delicious and we didn't feel shorted on portion size. We were also greeted well and the owner served us. He was very friendly and made the dining experience awesome! We will definitely come back
Edit: I told the owner my parlour review had over 50k views... Guess it was just the photo that had 50k views. The review only had ~2500
This is a common lunch/dinner spot for us, we are never disappointed. The service is great, the staff are super friendly, and the food is delicious with large quantities. This is a must try if you haven't before! A nice selection of beer and drink too.
Had a pulled pork sandwich with fries and an ice tea to drink. The sandwich was great: it had a fair amount of meat, but the bun was a bit stale near the edges. The fries were excellent: seasoning on every fry and crispy. The ice tea was cold and not too sweet, very refreshing with the meal.
Granted, it wasn't busy. And also, I had great company. But this last visit on Superbowl Sunday was my best Memphis Blues experience yet. Justin(?), The manager looked after us exceptionally, food was great. Thanks!
