Been coming here for 20 years and not much has changed besides location and renos. Same family owned business, same consistently delicious and fresh food!! The pitas are so hot and fresh you have to let them cool for minute before being able to pick them up. The zatar, meat pie and spinach & feta pita are all tasty, but my usual go to is the meat pie. There is now more room to sit and enjoy your food so thats a plus.
I’ve been coming here for years, but only for their meat pies. I usually grab a dozen- they make one fresh for me to eat in and the rest I take home and freeze. Try eating them with green olives and their homemade hot sauce, which is to die for. When I make the frozen ones at home, I usually defrost one in the microwave then add a bunch of mozzarella cheese on top and bake for 5-6 minutes.

Best customer service that I have ever had while going out to eat. I was amazed. Abdel served us as though we were old friends, bringing us things to try and take home, as a gift to us. The place was near closing and he was going back to make us more food to try, bringing fresh, hot pita with spicy hummus. I have never been treated like that before in any restaurant or cafe. He was very kind. The food was very good, and we will absolutely be back and bring friends. We tried the meat pie with veggies. Fantastic. We also had other breads and cheeses and dessert. All very tasty.
Village Pita Bakery is located in a strip mall near Marlborough, and it’s a bit out of the way for most people, but they offer excellent Mediterranean/Middle Eastern fare! This is foremost a Middle Eastern market, but they fortunately have a food counter. I bought the spinach & feta pie, potato pie and zaatar pie, all of which were tasty and flavourful (my favourite would be the potato pie, because it was unexpectedly fresh). Staff can be unfriendly, but quite quick & efficient. There aren't plenty of chairs (so it's geared more for takeaway), but food is really delicious!
So good! Such good value too. I usually get 1 cheese and 1 meat pie since I can eat a lot. I love the olives they give you as well. I live in the NW and still do my best to drop by at least once a week cuz it's that good. Try out a meat pie, you won't be disappointed. Make sure you add some lemon juice (and hot sauce if you can handle it)
Been eating meat pies from here since I was a little girl. Now my daughter eats their meat pies two!
Best meat pies. Love the meat pitas, Get them by the 1/2 dozen.
...a freshly baked pita stuffed with chicken, parsley, tomato, onion, banana peppers, pickled turnips and an amazing garlic sauce the pocket is oh-so-flavourful.

...a bakery, deli and Mediterranean grocery store which has been around since the late ’70s. They make fresh and hot pitas, which are sold in bags, and are also used in Lebanese food you don’t really get anywhere else.
Didn’t know what to expect but our experience has been amazing. The food is lovely and delicious. I highly recommend. It’s a family that runs the place and they make everything with love. You have to try the pies to believe. I was able to catch a picture of the pie’s before they were long gone 😂
Stopped by here for lunch, my first time trying out their Pita pies. The steak and cheese was delicious!! The meat pie is massive - definitely good for sharing and for only $4.75!!!
Definitely check them out if your in the area.
We got the meant as well as the cheese pie and both were delicious. Service was also great! The nice man at the till gave my kids some date bread. Highly recommend it and definitely will be back!
I like the place for there delicious freshly done meat pies. They carry balady bread as well and other Mediterranean products.
There meat pies remind me with Nineveh style meat pies.

I haven’t had any meat pies since I’ve moved here from Ontario In 2018. Being pregnant I started craving it out of no where and search the net and based on the reviews apparently this was the spot! Ppl were talking about coming there at the age of 7 now they’re bringing their kids so I said to myself I must try this spot.
Today I came in. Got a couple of meat pies and before I can even drive off I had to try it for myself and I must say it was amazing. This will be my spot from now on 😂😂
I had an Iranian business partner take me for meat pie here maybe 20 years ago now. And ever since I have been going back for those meat pies. Its a large pita with a meat spread served nice and warm and perfectly crispy but still soft inside. They give you olives to go with it and I recommend the hot sauce and lime juice added in moderation. It is outstanding. Highly recommended.
This place holds a special place in my heart. My dad took my family here every once in a while to have meat pies. It’s the only thing we ever got because we all loved them. He passed some time ago but I took my family there the other day and got to enjoy the food. They also carry a nice small variety of food as well. I always love picking up canned goods while I am there.
