Best pizza in Calgary!! Fresh ingredients, innovative combinations. Love it. We've gotten thin and thick crust, tried different toppings, and have been happy every time. Friendly service, even including a treat for my dog who was waiting in the car! Wish they were open every day of the week.
5* review for this pizza! So great, the specials are creative and delicious. 10/10 would eat again. Take out was quick and fresh and hot. Service was so incredibly friendly. We were offered samples of their pulled pork pizza while we waited.
We have had many pizzas from Wheat and have never been disappointed. The crust is tender. The combinations of toppings are interesting and innovative. Jay and his mom are very friendly and welcoming. Best we've had in Calgary.

Jay's now has an updated and expanded menu, with a whole bunch of new pizzas crafted with excellent ingredients. Why has no one put brie on a pizza before?

Come to Jay's and change the way you think about pizza!
Instead of an uninspired franchisee cutting corners to squeeze as much profit as possible from a tired formula, you get Jay and his mother.
Based in a half-sized storefront, when you walk into Jay's you pay, grab a sample slice of one of Jay's latest creations, and have a seat at one of the 3 chairs to wait for your pie to finish baking... or like me, you can stay at the small front counter and deli case, have a chat with Jay's mom and take the occasional peek into the clean open kitchen to watch the magic happen.
Jay's is a great local pizza place with friendly service from people who care about what they do...and what they do is make tasty and creative pizzas from quality ingredients.
If Jay served beer I'd probably just move in permanently.
Great pizza place! I love thin crust and Jay does a fresh, nice and crispy crust. Also his first date pizza with roasted garlic on it is nothing I have ever had anywhere else. Fresh, local, and good price point.
This is some of the best pizza in town. Nice chewy thin crusts and delicious, fresh ingredients. I love how creative the toppings are. One of the best pizzas is their thin crust 'Maple' pizza with Brussel sprouts and fresh mozzarella - to die for! My other two favourites are the sweet heat and the truffle. Their service is also great :)
Wish he was closer to my part of town! One of the best takeout pizza places in town! They pay real attention to their ingredients and what they're putting into the pizza. HUGE list of toppings and stuff you normally wouldn't find on a typical pizza menu. Love their daily deals too.
Very friendly, neighborhood place. They have samples at the counter too while you're waiting so you can try some of the other items on the menu. I can't decide on a favorite, but the maple Prosciutto is pretty killer and so is the Sweet Heat.
Great to have a neighborhood pizza joint for take out. Wheat: Pizza by Jay offers thin crust (12 inches) and Greek style (thicker classic Calgary style). We opted for the Greek style this time around. Jay and his family are very friendly people. Jay the pizza maker, his mom was taking orders. It's very important to me to support family-run pizza joints like Wheat. At Wheat, you just notice the quality, attention to detail and the love they put into the pizza making process. It's the opposite of what you get at a chain, where the care-meter isn't there.
Crust had a nice crispness on the outside and bottom while retaining that moistness of fresh bread on the inside. For us pizza nerds, the bottom of the crust was golden brown, perfectly baked with the right amount of oil on it. Sauce had a nice blend of herbs and spices.
While waiting with the kids, we were served with bruschetta and salsa samples. That was a nice touch.

The best pizza place in the neighborhood. I've been a few times so far and have been thrilled with the service and quality. Our meal is always ready quickly and the owners are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The pizza is great, crusts are flavorful and the toppings fresh. The sweet heat is to die for! Go and check this place out!
Great choice for takeout pizza in the close-in Northwest. This is a new place on 20th Ave NW, between 19th St and McMahon, run by a mother and son who have a real talent for pizza and probably many other dishes. They use fresh, high quality ingredients and it really shows. The pizzas are delicious. This will be our go-to place for pizza.
