Excellent! I loved it & will be back for sure. Small obscure place, easy to walk by & miss, wonderful gem. I know any time I'm in the area my jeep will just go "screech" & swerve & stop outside now. They had a few "pizzas by the slice to go" which looked like mine but on a half crust. I had one w basil, ham, sausage, olives - was great. Flavorful, thin crisp crust, fresh ingredients. I saw 10" and 14", my 10" took exactly 6 mins, was $10 cash plus they had a machine (won't know if both debit & visa but Zomato says "cash only" which might need updating). Fellow who served me was super friendly, people eating there looked very happy (very few seats), & outside I saw standing bar tables only (eat & run sort of thing). Super close to Community Health Foods, Coop Midtown, Tim Horton's so in a great location. Didn't see recent reviews & they've earned our support so am taking a moment to add an updated review. Enjoy! 4.5 stars from me only because I like my pizzas deeper & fully loaded generally.
Little eatery with a few tables or you can take out. Friendly owner from Europe will tell you:” if you don’t like it, bring back, I refund you!” Very confident! He is lucky because the pizzas are delicious! Hahaha, personally I prefer 14 inches big pizza as the crust tastes even better. I don’t know how they decided the prices, in my opinion, one 14 inches pizza should be slightly cheaper than two 10 inches pizza but actually is more expensive. So far, my favorite pizza is Mamma Mia , will definitely go back to try more different kinds.
A straight 5 out of 5 place, love it. You have to go check it out...I would call it a hidden gem of Calgary. The owners are a very nice couple who have been in the business for a while so they really know what a good pizza should be like ;)
Ordered two calzones. Looked good. Funny it was served with perhaps raw tomato/pizza sauce on the side. Wasn't too bothered. The calzones had quite a thick crust (around 3-4mm). Very cheesy. Ingredients tasted fresh to me. Don't understand why the tomato sauce was not incorporated into the calzone as the inside of the calzone lacked any pizza sauce (if there were some, it must have been minimal as I didn't notice much in there). Very filling (probably because of the copious amounts of mozarella) and good for the price ($10). However, juices started dripping out from the corners, which was sort of off putting. Crust was not as crispy as I anticipated, so that lost a few points. Will I come back again? I want to, hearing such great reviews. Will give them a second chance, by ordering a regular pizza and other items.
Finally stopped here and was not dissapointed. This little family owned pizza place is tucked away in the west corner of downtown. A total gem. The service was excellent and the pizza came out quick.
We ordered the Signora Gaga and were not dissapointed. It was crisp tasty and the flavor combinations were excellent. Perfectly cooked. They have so many unique varieties. I can't wait to try them all.
Best pizza on the face of the planet! Get the one with figs. The owner was so kind. He gave us free European candy to try and advised us on what to order. My boyfriend's mother is from Italy and he was raised eating Italian. He loves this place. He said they just need to add a fried egg on top a pizza.
Fantastic food (best pizza in YYC hands down; also delicious soups and pastries), friendly service, and an assortment of food products from the former Yugoslavia make this family-run business a favorite. There's a reason this charming place is regularly in the top of all Calgary restaurants :)
We just went to GAGA pizzeria for the first time and were so pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, great prices and friendly and charming owners. I tried the Tesla pizza and it was so unique and delicious! A really surprising and good white sauce, potatoes, onions and walnuts. We will definitely be returning again. I'm amazed that I have been missing this little gem for so long.
Stopped by for a takeout lunch and ordered the Verona and Margarita pizzas. AMAZING! So fresh and flavorful. The crust was light and crispy and not at all soggy. I think this will be replacing Una as my favorite pizza in town. The owners are also friendly and welcoming as well. Would definitely recommend.
Went on lunch break with a bunch of guys from work. The owner was very nice and explained all the types of pizzas he had. I ended up going with pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The crust was amazing and i was told only three ingredients went into making it. Perfect amount of sauce and toppings. Can't ask for more in pizza. And the prices were amazing for such hands on pizza. Will be going back that's for sure
This place is more than just a pizza place. If you are able to sit and chat with the owner of the place, youre in for an experience of laughs and and the feeling like family!
He and his family working create incredible "edible art" as I call it, beautiful and tasty! Youre going in on full flavour, no matter what you pick! Everything on the pizza is placed there with intent, so changing anything on the pizza itself may ruin the whole vibe he intended for.
Just as a forewarning though, I will say picky eaters will have a hard time finding something, this is a true Italian experience, not the americanized pizza you find elsewhere.
I highly recommend everyone tries this place, at least once!!
Good Italian thin crust pizza, what I'm used to from Montreal. Authentic Italian, good quality ingredients, great undercarriage. Definitely recommended!
I love cozy places and this was the one I've been looking for. Perfect pizza (I tried signora gaga) and very very kind owner family. The gifted me a cookie at the end.
Definitely worth a try and more :)
Kids love having their pizza from here. They love the variety of flavors that they can choose from and the generous toppings. Orders are cooked as ordered so they definitely are served hot and fresh. We can taste the ingredients and not just the crust which is the case in other type of pizza these days. Thin crust so we can definitely enjoy all of the pizza without any leftovers. Such a nice place.
Our family love this place, even my nephews and nieces enjoy their pizzas here. The children really enjoy the taste. The generous toppings and thin pizza crust--I really love them! They have a wide selection of pizza that anyone will surely enjoy like us. Plus the servers are very nice and friendly, they know how to entertain their customers.
Was in town for a weekend and so lucky to be staying right behind this place. Absolutely amazing pizza. Thin crust with the right balance of crisp and chew. Really tasty sauce and bright ingredients. Will be back here every time I'm in Calgary. I would 5 star this place even if the owners were nasty, but they were so kind and friendly. I can't think of a better way to run a pizza place. Highly highly recommend.
Always freshly cooked and fresh ingredients. Their regular-sized pizza is enough for how many persons..this place is not stingy when it comes to their serving portion especially the pizza toppings. We definitely got what we paid for. If I get tired of my usual flavor, there are other flavors available--a wide variety of flavors to choose from. I really love coming here for their delicious foods.
I was glad to visit this place! The lady greeted me with broad smile on her face, explained thoroughly what's on the menu, brought food for me and cutlery when I was just sitting down and waiting for my order to get ready. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations! The pizza tasted absolutely authentic Italian style and incredibly delicious. I ordered personal pizza (which had 4 slices) and I was absolutely full after 2 slices. The size is very filling. My place to grab pizza in Calgary . The owners are very friendly and always happy to help!
Highly recommend for everyone!
