An amazing place to sit and relax, such a good vibe and the food is so awesome. By far best donair I’ve had in the city and paired with the B&G salad it’s a really nice touch. Next visit will be the fish n chips as I hear it’s top notch. Well done for bringing this concept here I highly recommend you check it out.
Wife and I grabbed some lunch here today after seeing an ad on Facebook. She is originally from New Brunswick so trying something from the east coast was a must. She could never find a donair or garlic fingers in calgary that compared to back home...until today.
We both got a donair with mozzarella cheese added and the garlic fingers with bacon added. Absolutely amazing! Due to us showing up at lunch time it was fairly busy so we decided to get take out. The waitress was very friendly and the wait wasn't long at all. Maybe 15 mins. Would recommend this place to anyone. Definitely going back to try other items on the menu.
Blowers & Grafton has a menu filled with Halifax street food and dishes that are meant to bring back memories of any time you’ve spent back East. I’m heading to Halifax in the fall so I was exciting to finally make my way to the restaurant. Located in Bridgeland, there is absolutely no parking… the first block off Edmonton trail has 1 or 2 hour parking on the avenues and then it turns into permit only. So, be prepared to drive around to find parking and expect to walk a bit.
Love this place. Food is fantastic especially the donair and garlic fingers. Spinach salads are fantastic and they have a really cool Caesar with a stick of donair meat on it. And the staff is great too super friendly.
Best fish n chips in town, large pieces, not too greasy and light batter. We also love the garlic fingers, pizza and donairs. This is one of my husbands favourite places to go. It's probably a good thing we don't live down the block as I'm sure we would have a problem with me having to drag him out of there!! Lol The ambiance is cozy. I love how we all sit fairly close to one another, there is a neighborhood feel to it. Never been to Halifax but B & G makes us want to go!
I have been to pizza corner in Halifax probable 30 plus times so had to come here and try it out. Me and my wife ordered the lobster rolls with chips and the scallops with fries they also have some maritime beers here like Moosehead and garrison. The lobster rolls were not my favourite thing here did not taste right not sure what the problem was but the scallops and fries were delicious scallops were cooked well super moist even fries were done well.
Yum, Yum!!! Believe the hype!!! This place is great. Tried the lobster rolls, regular donair and donair pizza. All were fantastic! Great service and a cozy place. Can't wait to try more food here.
A small space that was busy the entire time we were there. Started with the fried spicy pepperoni with a mustard dipping sauce. We then ordered the donair pizza and it was AMAZING! The donair meat was flavorful, the crust was perfection and the donair sauce topped it all off. Had to take some home and it tasted just as good the next day. We were gifted the dessert which I can't remember the name off. They were the freshest doughiest timbits topped with berries and a sauce. Soooo good. Can't wait to go back!
What a great addition to Calgary's restaurant scene! After having driven by Blowers and Grafton countless times, we finally decided to stop by. The restaurant is very cosy and instantly makes you feel right at home, and our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout our meal. I decided to try the OG Halifax Donair ($13 for large/$10 for regular), while my friends got the Fish N' Chips ($16) and the Brothers Pepperoni Pizza ($15.50). The donair was absolutely delicious - a warm pita stuffed with tender, flavourful meat slathered in sweet donair sauce. The Fish N' Chips were pretty incredible, too - buttery, meltingly tender haddock fried in a crisp batter and served alongside some of the best fries I've had in a while. The pizza was generous and hearty, but definitely my least favourite of the three. The sauce seemed to be lacking something and the cheese was not as melted as I would have liked, but still a good deal for 15 bucks. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!
Parking was a bit of a challenge tonight for dinner club. I had to loop around a couple time to find parking in on the street a block away. Watch out for permit restrictions on the street parking. Once inside the place is quite small and tables are close together. I was able to msg them on fb and ask for reservations but we came a bit earlier just in case. The waitress was friendly and attentive. There was so many things off the menu that sounded good it was hard to decide. I got the lobster rolls and it was delicious!!! So good!! You must get this :) my friend got the garlic Fingers with bacon bits looked amazing and i would like to try this next time. I want to try the Donair as well. Will be back!
I was here on Saturday evening with my wife after we learned this place existed.. being from the East Coast (PEI) this was very exciting for us. The atmosphere was very pleasent with East Coast/Canadian/Classic rock music playing on their speakers. We had probably more food than 2 people should order but it was worth it and we had some delicious leftovers for Sunday Morning! The Donair pizza was delcious with a very good quality crust, I was told the dough is fermented for 4 days.. Honestly it isn't exactly like some places back home or on Pizza Corner but Good pizza is good pizza.. and this is definitely good quality pizza.
Prices were reasonable, $13 for a full sized Brothers Pepperoni Pizza. The Lobster Rolls and Clams and chips we're both under $20... you will not even find that in the Maritimes. The lobster rolls actually had big chunks of Claw and Tail, which is also uncommon in a roll even back home! My wife enjoyed the Moscow Mule, and I had an "Oak Island Old Fashioned" that they smoked the glass for on an old Bourbon Barrel and used Quebec Maple Syrup as the sugar..
I could go on about this restaurant.. but I'll let others try it for themselves.. it's an absolutely delight from food, service and atmosphere we will be returning very soon (maybe this weekend).
The east coast bar clams were spot on. Chunky morsels lightly dusted in corn flour and fried so the clams were still meaty and had a nice chew to it. The homemade fries and house made tartar sauce were good. The fries were crispy and with the skin on. The tartar sauce wasn’t the generic type that I’ve become accustomed to in Calgary. I would order this dish again.
Welcome to Blowers & Grafton of Calgary. Yes an east coast bar, but with authentic east coast food. An original Halifax style pub, where I was introduced to some amazing souls. Jenna, Matt, Ally, Victoria and, Charlotte, really what an amazing experience. If you have not yet and are in Calgary, this a the spot to check out. Even if your not from Calgary, and want some home loving food, check out this place.
I’ve been wanting to try this place out forever as they have lobster rolls on the menu! Although the lobster meat was good, it was only on the top of the sandwich and only veggies were inside the bread. The fish taco filling was delicious but the taco was very dry. The Donair pizza was not bad and the fresh donuts were very good. The restaurant is tiny and I think they are only able to accommodate 3 tables at a time. I did see a lot of people grab takeout though.
We did not want to give any of the food a chance to go soggy while en route via delivery or on the way home. So we ate in the car. The chowder was nice, but not sure we'd come back for that. Those mini lobster rolls though?!?! Bomb. And we recommend the chips on the side. Awesome service, will be back!
The restaurant is very small so reservations are required on popular nights. They have spaced out tables and added plexiglass for safety.
Happy hour has good deals on some top notch food. I’m not usually a pepperoni fan but the Brothers Pepperoni was incredibly flavourful (comes in mild or hot) with a delicious mustard dipping sauce. The garlic cheese bread was as big as a pizza. I found it a little salty but still enjoyed it.
The pizzas were delicious. The pepperoni being on the happy hour menu really makes it a steal. The fish and chips were top notch, very crispy and satisfying. Even the fries were excellent.
Come here and get the donair. Trust me.
Picked up a couple of donairs on my way home as they were on special. Proper and sloppy. The donair meat was nice and tender and is complemented nicely with the BG donair sauce. The inside of the restaurant is very small and cozy, so it’s limited capacity. I was greeted by very friendly and smiling staff. Close to downtown, and a large array of item available on the menu. Reasonably priced, and a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Will return!
Really enjoyed our meal. I would say maybe order take out at peak times as the space is very small. Besides that everything was unreal, best Caesar in Calgary.
Great food and great customer service!
The donair might look a bit small but it is packed with meat and very filling.
Maybe the best garlic fingers now since Big Daddy's Sylvan is closed. But the Donair (add pep and cheese!) is for sure top 3 contender for best in Alberta. Sorry no picture due to gluttonous inhalation.
