Can't get enough of there spicy mayo and corn my fav, but to be honest I have never had something I did not enjoy. Kyu grill rocks and I would recommend to all.
Spicy mayo does not disappoint. Delicious . A must try . Check them out at the Forks it is a great location
Everything I've tried here is very very good. The meats are all charges grilled to perfection, and the fresh veggies with spicy/tangy/umami sauces are wonderful.
The high quality of food at this stall speaks to Kyu’s success as a food truck that’s won many competitions. Trophy of their recent win is displayed with pride at the counter, and that pride permeates their food offerings consistently. They often participate in competitions like burger week, poutine week, etc, so very worthwhile to check out the current unique offerings added to the menu from time to time.
Their Pork Belly Heroshima is something I crave, and my mouth is watering just thinking of it: a soft bun surrounds a generous skewer of tender pork belly bathed in spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce and sprinkled with bonito flakes and green onion. It basically hits all the flavour profiles: savoury, salty, sweet, spicy. Pair with a bottle of lemon green iced tea for a hit of sour and you’ve satisfied every aspect of your palate.
Also crave-able: the schimchi fries (I probably spelled that wrong...) Tempura’ed, thick cut potatoes are lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, doused in spicy mayo. Small size makes a hearty side to other menu items, large is a serious meal or enough to shared as a side between two to three people.
The new food hall at The Forks continues to take shape. Last week I wrote about the Nuburger location, and this week I visited the new Kyu Grill site. I’ve written about the Kyu Grill food cart in the past, but this was a time to try out the Forks location which seems like a cross between Kyu Bistro and the food cart as far as the menu goes.
I dined here about a month ago while with a friend at the Fork's Market. We had a poutine with fish flakes (can't remember the kind and can't find it on their online menu or website), along with a Mango Heroshima. The service was lacklustre (but it is a food court), however the food was fantastic! The bun on the Mango Heroshima was sweet and soft with a yellow tinge (not sure what is in it, but it complimented the ingredients very nicely). The fries were crispy with awesome toppings--the fish flakes moved as they settled into the hot toppings underneath. So GOOD! :)
So so so so SO happy they got a place indoors with seating! I would frequent their food cart in summer but always hated the wasps that attracted around the area they were in. I always go for the spicy mayo chicken or the pork belly heroshima. Since they've added new items to their menu at the forks, I HIGHLY recommend you check it out since their cart is a limited menu. I also had a catering done by them for a bridal shower and was very impressed by the amount of food. For the price we paid, we got much more than enough to feed our party and the quality was nothing short. The side order of fries, corn, and chicken are also a must! Definitely a must to check out of you like Asian fusian cuisine.
I had been dying to try Kyu Grill after seeing them set up at Many Fest a couple years ago. I was very excited to see them get a permanent spot at the forks, and finally tried it last night. I went with the Mango Chicken with a side of spring rolls. Everything was delicious! The chicken was so tender and that mango salsa was killer! Can't wait to try the Goji Berry Beef!
Currently eating the Spicy Pork Belly Poutine and I absolutely love it! The dish is a good size I would even share it with another person, or maybe even a takeout box would be good just in case. The fries themselves without any of the pork belly toppings are great! They are seasoned and fries and a bit bigger than fries, but smaller than wedges. Nice and crispy and good for portion. The pork belly toppings... wow. Pretty flavourful and just the right spice. The onions really add a nice sweetness which works very well, and the pork is kinda stringy like pulled pork. I've have other things from the food truck and I've always enjoyed them. For sure an interesting menu, and I'm always excited to come back and try something new! Worth a try for sure! 🐖
