I am happy to report Candy's chicken will be advancing into the 2nd round of the International Fried Chicken Olympics (IFCO). 2 perfect scores! Plus a respectable 28 out of 30. It was the perfect piece of chicken. Juicy, flavourful, perfectly crisp and great visual appeal. The 4 categories we are judging them on.
If the Colonel was still alive he would order from Candy's. Also their chicken is lactose free if you or anyone you know has a dairy sensitivity.
I thought the chicken was really good. The fries were good too but they just needed more salt. Onion rings were good. Coleslaw and macaroni salad were good as well. The bun was dry and they didn’t put butter in the bag if they do give butter. Overall experience was good. The chicken was very tasty and the sides were good. Just more salt on the fries and a fresher bun. Service was friendly.
Sitting outside waiting for my takeout chicken to be ready. I would travel across the city for Candy's chicken. Oh wait, I just did. Good price, succulent, not greasy!!!
Perfection has a name, and it's Candys! I love this place and its hands down best fried chicken I've ever eaten. Their salads are awesome and their fries a very flavourful. Their gravy is unmistakable and their status is unbreakable. Love you guys!!!
I think we all know that Candy's Chicken is the shiznit!! So crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. I feel very fortunate that they're located only 5 minutes away from my house.
My goal has been to find the best fried chicken in the city and I have finally found it. Candy's chicken is seasoned perfectly and the meat is nice and juicy. The home made fries are also some of the best I've ever had. The prices are also very fair and the customer service is top notch. I placed an order for pick-up, I arrived on time but I was told I'd have to wait 5 more minutes(no big deal, I didn't mind). However, they felt bad for making me wait so they up sized both of my salads! Now that...is customer service.I will never go to KFC and Chicken Delight ever again. Candy's might be a bit out of the way for most people, but I assure you the quality of food, service and their prices makes it definitely worth the trip.
Easily the best chicken in town. Never had a bad experience, unlike with other major chains... It's always hot (delivery) and crispy, never under-cooked or bloody. The delivery is always prompt and the price is definitely a pro as well.
Would always eat again/10.
The chicken is KFC style but a million times better. Crispy, hot and fresh and seasoned just right. The fries are just great and the classic potato salad is better then anyone's I've ever had. This is my family's favourite chicken place. Would always come back.
KFSh!t. Excuse my language but this place is amazing. I've always felt sick or bloated or that gross feeling after eating fried chicken. But not from this place. It was amazing. Nothing was greasy at all. I wish it wasn't so far though. My food get cold by the time I'm home. Please open one in the south end! Or let me open one and lets get a small franchise going. Haha.
Way better than KFC or Chicken Delight. I'm not really a fan of fried chicken that isn't made at home, always too greasy or too salty or not crispy enough. But Candy's is seasoned really well and super crispy, their fries remind me of NYF, which I love. Their chicken fingers are really good too and huge! I just wish they had honey dill sauce to go with it. I found the service perfectly pleasant and it was quick and fresh, we went on a Tuesday which is their deal day too. Definitely a bargain on Tuesdays.
MMmmmmmm. The chicken is just the best. Period.
Tried this for the first time since I was a kid and it was seriously the best chicken ever. Crispy, not greasy with the best flavouring.
The service was lacklustre... but no waiting...
Reading the other reviews and being a person who works with the public myself, I just have to say that everyone has a bad day here and there. Being overwhelmed when you are trying your best to keep up, and then having people YELL at you, can put anyone in a defensive mood. Do you all have any idea what it is like to be talked to like a piece of sh*t on the bottom of someone's shoe when you are trying your very best? Welcome to dealing with the public. It seems in the last decade or less, people think because they are the customer, that this gives them the right to talk to others like insignificant servants.
