One of the best place to go for authentic French pastries and bread. The owner is the baker itself. My only complain is their business hours--one day is like another. Better check first their hours before driving down there. Overall, love this place.

Amazing baguette!. Best baguette! The only problem is I work tue to sat, it is just too hard to go there as their open hour is short.
When you need it!. I badly needed some croissant today and that flaky crust and yummy chocolate were perfect!

Excellent! Went first thing in the morning today to grab some croissants and boy was it worth the early start! As soon as I walked in, the scent of fresh baked goodies just stunned me as if I was in a million dollar dream. You know it must be a great bakery when customers were tagging in and out this early in the morning. Will be back to try more goodies!
Meilleure Baguette en Ville!. Born and raised in Montréal by a rather Gourmet family, I have pretty high standards for breads.
Bottom line is : Le Croissant is one of the best baguette that I have ever tasted anywhere. It has nothing to envy to any Montréal bakeries. The croissants are also quite delicious.
My ONLY complaint is that they are not open long enough!
Delicious!. If you want one of the the best croissants around, try Le Croissant. My absolute fav's are poppyseed. Love, Love, Love them! But to get them you have to be in the door at 8am. I am and don't mind. I have tried their bread, cheese and other pastries and they are absolutely delicious. I have not had a better croissant other than one from the Sofitel Hotel in the US.
According to the newspaper article a few years ago, their hours are very much like a french bakery in France! Westerns expect to get whatever they want at any time of the day.
Yummy croissants!. I love this French bakery because I love their croissants!!!! I haven't been here since 2009 but I was in the area recently and went in for a caloric splurge! This bakery does not have the best hours...at least for non-morning people like me. They are closed by 1 pm on weekdays meaning that when you show up at 12:45 pm, like I did one time, there were no plain croissants left, only pain au chocolat. Not terrible but let's just say you have to go early to ensure that you have a selection to choose from.
The croissants are absolutely divine - perfectly crisp exterior, nice butter flavour and a nice fluffy interior. Some croissant interiors can be quite hollow but this one is not like that at all! I love their plain croissant and at $1.80 each, it's a great price!
They also serve up other croissant flavours like almond, cheese (mozzarella), and chocolate ($2.80 each). The pain au chocolate is a nice dark chocolate and very lovely.
They also make mini desserts, loafs, cookies and palmiers (lots of palmiers). They also sell cheese and pate.
I had a yummy quiche like item, even though it was not a quiche. It had a light pastry shell and it was filled with cheese and tomatoes ($3.50). Very simple but very yummy.
This chocolate item (see pic) was $5 and very small but very rich. It was like chocolate ganache, not cake like at all. It was sweet but not overly so but two bites was enough for me.
Service is friendly and bilingual. Just make sure you go early in the day!
Hours:
Wed-Fri: 8 am to 1 pm
Sat: 8 am to 2 pm
Sun: 8 am to Noon
Le Croissant is definitely going to be providing me with some of my breakfast and lunch materials over the coming months. If you want to go there, go closer to opening rather than the closing time, otherwise you may miss out on some of what is on offer. Baked goods this great don’t last long.
Best Croissants. Wonderful bread. One of the most authentic small French bakery in Saint-Boniface. (Or even.. the most?) The owners are originally from France, the flour is imported from Europe and they’ve got hundreds of imported French snacks. I also use their frozen pizza dough and it’s delicious.
Always love this place. Amazing pastry and bread. Staff is so helpful and patient! Wouldn't go anywhere else.
The staff were sooo wonderful & so were the croissants!! They saw my niece looking at their macaroons and they gave her one, just because! Made her whole day and made ours as well ❤️
This is a cute family owned bakery, they were so kind and helpful. They can speak English and French and seem like the type of people that make friends with their customers. Very good food for a reasonable price and it brings a feeling of France to Winnipeg!
We had croissants from here for this mother's day and they were the star of the meal for most of us. The almond croissant is to die for and I honestly think they might be my new go to dessert for any occasion. So yummy and filling, they are satisfying enough to be served on their own easily.
This is my favorite bakery in Winnipeg. Everything here is good there is no discretion between products. Croissants, breads, cakes, even their pate and cheeses. Everything. Good luck getting something if you are late. They run out fast! Tastes just like the bakeries in Paris I used to go to 🍞
I used to go here all the time.. I moved to Miami from Winnipeg
I haven’t been back to Winnipeg in 8 years
And not one bakery I’ve been to anywhere
Even New Orleans has better
This place hands down is remarkable
Great local French bakery!
The best croissants in the city! My personal favourite is the poppyseed croissant. Be sure to arrive early because they sell out of some flavours fast.
Delicious croissants and other treats. A favourite when we come to town. Get there early or you might miss out. Friendly staff. (Cash or debit card only)
