I adore this little bake shop; the owner's are lovely and the bread is so good!
As a working mother I don't always have time to make my own bread, which we try to do often, but no one in my family complains when I bring home Esquimalt Bake Shop bread and it feels good to support a small business.

Best Jam doughnut and best Apple fritter EVER. I stumbled upon this little jem one day accidently while in the neighbourhood. I saw the super dipped fry bread filled with jam and I couldnt resist. I nice combination of sweet and sour, with a perfect soft yet lightly crispy doughtnut shell, and for 1.45 its a steal, I also recoment the apple fritter its the same price and huge with a crispy outside and a sugar glaze and nice soft and gooey chunks of apple. I also tried a peacan butter tart and it was top shelf too. This place is epic to go to on a sunny morning after you have grabbed a coffee ( I got to serious because its a few doors down but anywhere that roasts its own beans will do.) and then get a fresh old tyme doughnut to match it.
Always Good!. Have visited many times for various items and have never been disappointed. The best item for me is the Long Johns. Real fresh whip cream makes this one a winner!!! Shortbread is good too. Love the cash only family atmosphere!!! Looking forward to my next visit already!!!

I had my wedding on August 6 and ordered different types of donut and the sausage rolls. Everything was amazing. Our guests gave a lot complements. Thank you the owner so much , you are so kind and sweet. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ordered in the evening and order was ready by 9am as requested. Family gathering for a birthday party, and everyone enjoyed the donuts DELICIOUS! The reaction from damily members was eye popping and draw dropping when they saw the donut size and the variety, WELL DONE to the staff at ESq Bakery!!! We had extra and ate them the next day and still, very tasty and fluffy.
Prior to party I gathered my grandchildren to do a blind taste test with donuts I purchased from 2 other donuts stores that were highly recommended, and all of them voted for #3 which was Esquimalt Bake Shop! We created a mini donut wall instead of serving birthday cake.
Service was exceptional when she asked what our occasion was for she happily smiled and gave the birthday boy a triple chocolate chip cookie, the cookies are large too.
I've never been big on donuts as a dessert but I definitely an now! Lol
We've gotten donuts here over the years and they're the best we've ever had! We chose to have their donuts at our wedding and were able to also rent a peg board from them that says 'Donut mind if I do'. Excellent customer service here as well!
My wife bought a dozen doughnuts and some sausage rolls for us. I just had a late lunch of sausage roll and a boston cream doughnut. Fantastic. Sausage roll reheated in the oven and pastry was still flakey and filling very flavourful. The doughnut, be sure you have plenty of napkins or a bib handy. Full of delicious cream. The chocolate not over sweet. Way better than Tim Hortons when they were still making theirs fresh. This was a real treat. Old school quality. 👍👍👍
PS. These doughnuts are massive so if you order a dozen you will want to be serving a dozen people.
Absolutely AMAZING locally owned bakery! Their donuts are huge(!), they have a great selection of flavours, and VERY reasonable prices! If you are a donut fan, these are worth the trip! Lots of other items too...perfectly flaky sausage rolls and mest pies, breads, cookies, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Super friendly little bakery in Esquimalt Plaza. The doughnuts are amazing! I got a blueberry and lemon curd doughnut. It was huge but so light and fluffy at the same time! The filling was almost too much! The entire time I was eating it, I was giddy like a kid!
This was my first time having the doughnuts. The last time I came, everything was already sold out! I'm happy I came back to try again!

Beautiful variety of bakes from this sweet little shop! No surprise that this family business has been here for 31 years. Looking at the plump donuts, cookies, croissants and more, it's clear they have not scrimped on quality with their super reasonable prices. Will be happy to return!
I ordered 10 dozen donuts from here for a work event and they were so accommodating and were able to get the donuts ready in such good timing! Everyone raved about them all day and I just can't thank them enough for their service and delicious treats! Highly recommend for your events and just for a snack!!
