My wife and I visit Barb's almost every weekend during their season. By far the best halibut and chips in the city. We would like to wish Olivia all the best in Vancouver. She has served you well, Barb's. Happy Anniversary. See you next weekend.
One of the best calamari I've had!. Portion size is great and the oyster burger was a pleasant surprise.
This place is one that you’ll come across every blog and video about Victoria and the hype was real! The line ups in peak seasons can be crazy and so the service can take its own sweet time!
In terms of food, the Halibut fried fish was perfection and every bit worth the money! The chips however were a little limpy.
The seating was super hard to come by because of massive crowds! The condiment/ketchup station was a little messy and needed refill. Just little things like that! So set your expectations on food and you’ll be fine!
We chose to eat at Barb's Fish & Chips in Fisherman's Wharf because we were in the mood for a delectable and decadent fish burger. 🐟🍔🍟The friendly host at the booth welcomed us where we placed our order. We sat down on one of the outdoor benches to enjoy the view of the sea. Great atmosphere. I like how accessible it is. The hosts offered excellent service. The fish burger and fries were our picks. It tasted good. I appreciated how crunchy and crisp it was. It was jam-packed with flavours, all of which were amazing. Highly recommend!😁
This fish and chips place is superb! I will always come by here for dinner whenever I'm in Victoria. Love the fish and chips, as well as their seafood chowder! Service was really fast too. The only issue is that it's always crowded and it might be hard to find seats. But it's still worth the wait!
This has been one of my favourite spot for fried oysters and Halibut for many many years. Quality has dropped versus 30 years ago, but the place is still fully packed during the summer season. I will still go to this place, however with less enthusiasm as before.
Great food and fast service! The restaurant is located right in the middle of a very touristy area of the Fisherman's Wharf, so it can get pretty busy. The staff kept the line moving quickly and we got our food in about 15 minutes. Seating outside is really pleasant in the evenings with the sun setting over the water. Highly recommend ordering the halibut if you are getting the fish and chips!
Decent nice fish & chips with nice sea view. The salmon fillet was crispy and tasty.
I had a great early lunch at Barb's! I ordered the large portion fish&chips, it was very tasty. The dough was nice and crispy and fish nice and fluffy. Afterwards also hefty priced, but definitely worth it!
Good fish and chips. Fisherman's wharf is a nice place to visit and this place has the famous fish and chips there.
Yummy fish and chips, we also really enjoyed the salmon. Kid's meals are available. The chowder was delicious, a great little spot by the water and we've been here multiple times over the years.
It's my second time here me and same excellent experience. I had the halibut fish and chips. Batter is light and crispy, just how I like it. Fries is amazing. Not sure if they make their own tar tar sauce, my guess is yes - it's good! The chowder comes in all sizes, really enjoyed that one as well. Also noticed that on both visit, this restaurant is the most busy of all the others. You always have to wait for a table to be vacant as it's that popular. All staff are efficient and friendly too!
