I couldn't help coming here, after seeing all the yummy pictures. My girlfriend and I ordered the mango shaved ice and waffle ice cream. We absolutely fell in love with the flavors.
This place is using fresh fruits daily and quality isn't compromised. Some people are not going to like the prices here, it is a bit steep. However, in the end, I personally think it's worth trying it atleast once.
I would come back again to try the dragon fruit.
Service is very friendly and the place is clean with a up to date decor. There's plenty of parking out front on Granville too.
They were very generous with the portion of mangos and they were perfectly ripe, sweet, and delicious. Golden Dragon Fruit Snow Ice. This dessert costs $21. I died a little when I found that out, but they import the dragon fruit daily from Ecuador so it is at optimal ripeness. As soon as I had the first bite though I was sold. The dragon fruit was amazing. I have never had a dragon fruit that tastes this good before and I didn’t even know they could be so sweet and flavourful.
Pictured: Look at how that snow ice is so delicately shaved… falling apart like soft fresh falling snow. Nowhere else beats this place for this cold treat and the only place I know serving golden dragonfruit, with added grass jelly. Must try! It is a little pricey at over $20 but the subtle sweetness of the dragon fruit is just so amazing and I am a huge dragon fruit fan. I like to have it with lychee snow ice. I tried the mango snow ice too but didn’t find it as flavourful. They also have other homemade Asian desserts, like mango sago, durian sago, black sesame soup and homemade ice cream.
With all the photos popping on to my online feed, this one has long been on my list. I read foodies and food bloggers alike declaring that their sago and mango ice the best to hit the block. Ironically we tried neither. Instead, we were craving durian and knew they offered it here, so that was reason enough for us to go.
Doolami Dessert is located in the Marpole area serving up delicious Chinese desserts. They pride themselves with using the best ingredients possible in their desserts. Everything is made in-house and they do not use any concentrates, preservatives, or sweeteners. I came here with some awesome foodies and we ate through the menu. I’ve been to Doolami before and enjoyed their desserts, so it was good to have a revisit to see whats new.

Overall, I did enjoy Doolami and it’s a very popular place to go at night. Their prices are higher than most dessert places but they work really hard to ensure the quality is there. The desserts are catered towards an Asian palette, so its not too sweet. I would recommend the sago desserts and the shaved ice. If you can’t wait in line to get a seat, grab a pint to go as an alternative.
Doolami (literal translation is cute and yummy?) specializes in all Asian desserts. The range of desserts is like no other chinese place I have seen. Here you can order rare fruits that are not normally carried in stores including durian, australian mango and Ecuador dragon fruit to name a few. We got the opportunity of a lifetime to sample most if not all the items off their menu.
Located at 8030 Granville Street, Doolami offers late night dessert options from 7 pm to 11 pm most days (12 pm on Friday and Saturday). Their main desserts range from $7-$9 and include double scoop ice cream on waffle, chilled mango sago cream with pomelo, durian sago cream, house special snow ice, red bean soup, and house special grass jelly. Some dessert snacks featured are comination pastes (black sesame and walnut paste or purple yam and taro) and glutinous rice balls with peanuts and sesame seeds; these are between $4-$6.
Yesterday, we ventured to Doolami Dessert, an Asian dessert place located on the Vancouver West Side. They are opened from 7 – 11pm every night, although I believe they are opened later on weekends. Location: 8030 Granville Street in the Marpole neighbourhood. It was our first time at Doolami. Previously, I’ve tried their take-home pint Matcha and Durian ice creams, which were very strong in flavour. The Matcha ice cream, in particular, had very little sweetener and you can fully taste the bitterness characteristic of grounded matcha. Doolami claims to use no additives in their ice creams, and real fruits only.
Great shaved ice and ice cream selection. Their grass jelly tastes really good too. I love how their shaved ice is creamy and smooth, and it's not too icy. Their toppings need some work though, as their mochi and red bean seem undercooked. I will come back for their shaved ice and to purchase their house made ice cream.
