Since I have moved to Kerrisdale, I have been thinking of trying this Rice Pot House. I met my old friend for lunch so I suggested to go to this place and try their Claypot Rice. It is a nice small restaurant on the W41 Avenue with the big red logo so it is easy to spot this place. They have both indoor and outdoor dining area. Before I came here I read some reviews about their clay pot rice and all are quite positive, especially the C9: Chicken, dried mushrooms and sausage clay pot rice. So I gave it a try. When I entered the restaurant I was warmly welcomed by the servers and they also recommended me to try this famous clay pot rice. It also came with a bowl of Chinese soup. My friend picked the minced pork cake clay pot rice. Without waiting for long the clay pot rice we’re ready and I could hear the sizzling sound when I added in the light and sweet soy sauce. This sound made me recalled the the clay pot rice I had in Hong Kong a long time ago. Having a clay pot rice in a cold day is definitely awesome experience. The chicken meat is soft without overcooked. It smelled good with the sausage and slides mushroom. The crispy rice on the bottom was fantastically the same as I had before. It is authentic and wonderful! The one ordered by my friend was also great and we finished the rice without any left over. For the foods and service, definitely 5 stars and I will try the other clay pot rice on the menu for sure.

Always want to try the hot pot rice but didn't got a chance so far. Only tried the rice noodle and bubble waffle for afternoon tea. The bubble waffle was crispy outside and soft inside fully filled with batter which gives eggier taste. Very surprised and never expect to taste exceptionally delicious bubble waffle in the neighborhood.

Hidden gem in Kerrisdale! We found this place randomly and it became our go-to restaurant for Bao Zai Fan (claypot rice). Small, family owned business and unlike other HK cafe, the servers (owners I believe) were very friendly. All the Bao Zai Fan came with their complimentary soup of the day as well. We also tried their bubble waffle as snack and it was good as well. Overall a great restaurant and not pricey at all for the quality of food. Highly recommended.

We came to this Chinese restaurant for dinner last week. Tried the tomato fish egg noodles soup and fish cake ,chicken egg vermicelli based laksa soup. Both the dishes were of generous proportions, and tasted good. Cost of each dish was roughly 13$.

Ny friend recommended this place for hot rice pots. At first, I thought the pot was too shallow, but after eating it down to the last crispy grains at the bottom, I realized it was the perfect portion size. I loved it! The chicken and pork spareribs were so juicy and tender. There were also a few pieces of sliced Chinese sausage and some greens. I especially liked that the pot remained so hot until the end and all the rice at the bottom and sides got crispy. The price was reasonable ($15) and the server was friendly and patient. It’s a small place and it’ll be cash or debit if the bill is under $20.

I feel kind of silly because I ate my clay pot rice so fast I forgot to take a picture! I like them! The decor is nothing to write home about but you're here for the food anyway. Give their ground beef and egg clay pot rice a try! If you're more into noodles, they have that too!

Great local restaurant for Cantonese comfort food and some Hong Kong style cafe dishes (rice dishes, soup noodles, mini clay pot rice, bubble waffles). Friendly service and reasonable prices. It’s not super big a space and the largest tables are for 4.

During lunch, my friend and I just want to try the clay pot rice, so we decided to try this restaurant. It’s not busy around 11:30am, the lady owner just scan our vaccine card, well done. Even someone without it, she refused to serve even outside the patio. When the rice is ready, it’s come out hot with steam, the look is okay and the taste is good, the pork jowl is very tender and tasty, the service is good and the owner is friendly, the most important things is the price, very reasonable. In winter time, I think I will come back often because of hot food.
