Not fancy but great food. Affordable. Fresh. Kind staff. What else can you ask for!

Great spot for sushi. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the sushi was good. We really enjoyed our dinner and would definitely go back.
You can't beat Sushivan in freshness and taste. It's as good as it gets and at a great price.
My wife and I were in the area and got hungry around 4:30PM. That's when they open for dinner. We decided to give Sushivan a try and we were extremely pleasantly surprised at how fresh their raw fish is and how high quality it is. You can put their sushi against any higher end sushi and we even thought it was better than Minami in Yaletown. They could easily increase their prices by 50% and it still would be worth it. We don't live in the neighborhood but if we want classic nigiri sushi or something like a chirashi don, we are gonna drive out to Sushivan instead of going to our more local favourites in Kitsilano.
It's very underrated and I may be doing myself disservice by writing this in the future but they deserve it. Amazing nigiri and value second to none.
If you like raw fish, I highly recommend their chirashi don, salmon belly, toro, salmon, tuna, negitoro, and unagi nigiri.
This is my neighbourhood hot spot for sushi and boy does it not disappoint! 10/10 every time. The servers are great, the sushi always fresh, and totally reasonable. Their rolls are delicious. Every time I take a friend here, they always comment on how great the sushi is. Can’t be beat!
Our favourite local place for sushi, lunch, and dinner. Aways tasty and good portion size for a decent price. There are several kinds of raw fish you can order apart from regular salmon or tuna: scallop, unagi, toro, etc. They also have a lot of interesting rolls you cant get anywhere else, like sushi pizza or crazy boys roll, and nude boy roll, love love roll. Gyoza are good as well. Beef udon is regular with thick noodles.
We have tried their delivery on uber eats as well, and it was very fast and of consistent quality.
The place is nice and small, right beside a bus stop. There is also a table near the fake fireplace, which is cozy. Music is not loud.
Solid sushi place I really liked the avocado grenade, it’s a whole avocado filled with imitation crab, chopped scallops and spicy tuna deep fried in tempura. Good service and the space is nicely divided to make the tables more private for such a small place. Pretty good sushi place for the area.
Our go-to for sushi take out (and sometimes dine in). It's always well made and fresh and very competitively priced. Take out usually takes 20 min for pick up.
Why is this sushi place popular with so many locals? Great food and excellent service. Whole menu made from good quality ingredients. Sure it does't look like the kind of place you want to eat judging from the outside. But once you are in, you forget all that. For those feeling a bit claustrophobic the ceilings are actually taller and it is roomier inside. It is also kid/child friendly. Eat in or take out, highly recommended.
The server was kind and friendly and the food was very tasty. The sashimi was fresh and Aburi was the best in town. It was the great experience for my sister’s birthday party. I will definitely come back again
