I’m not sure why anybody would give this place a bad review! The staff were so polite, and the food arrived quickly, and was super authentic. Definitely worth visiting if you are a fan of Szechuan cuisine.
An excellent authentic Szechaun restaurant. Sean, the owner and chef, has many years of experience and a great knowledge of Szechaun cooking. The shredded pork with special sauce, , the grilled lamb with cumin, and the dumplings are only a few of the many dishes that are cooked to perfection. The menu has a wide variety of selections. Lily, the hostess, is very friendly and provides excellent service. The absolute bonus to this dining experience is the young waiter, Jason, who will explain to you any dish and recommend something to satisfy your palate. He is considered to be the best waiter on West 4th and it is easy to see why. He serves all customers, especially the ladies, with grace and charm. It is also rumoured that he may be the best looking waiter on 4th West as well. Go see for yourself. The prices are higher than the standard Chinese restaurant but well worth the visit.
I had a very positive experience here. The service was friendly, I really enjoyed the ambiance, and most of all, I loved my dish. Granted I only had the one (fish in red chili oil), but I thought the spicing was spot on, the fish was fresh and flavourful, and the whole thing was well put together. For the price, the portion was quite large and I took home some leftovers. I will definitely go back to try out a few more dishes.
A good experience. As a Szichuan citizen, I immediately went here when I found it on Zomato. The decoration is a little bit different from original Chinenese one, but it's simple, clean, and exquisite, still with the great hospitality, making me feel at home. The dish, twice cooked pork, 回锅肉 in Chinese, is so great, not only for its color, but also with its scent. It tastes different, maybe because of the materials, but still great, fat but not greasy, authentic tastes. It's so nice to have this wonderful meal. Must return here some day.
Authentic Szechuan food and great service! The servers were very friendly and the owner is knowledgeable about Szechuan cuisines.
We had a few classic Szechuan dishes, such as Mapo Tofu (which is pleasantly numbing with unique but natural flavor), fried lotus roots, (This is sooooo good), and fried green beans (homemade style tasty). Also, we tried the snowflake chicken, which as the owner told us is hard to find in Vancouver as not many restaurants have it. It looks like egg cream but is made of chicken breast. This is great for children and seniors.
Oh, and the eight treasure dessert is AMaaaazing! It is unlikely to find this in regular Chinese restaurants as well. It goes perfectly with their complimentary lychee black tea.
The bonus is that it features "healthy" traditional Szechuan cuisines without adding any artificial flavor or msg.
Awesome food, friendly staff, and good environment. Highly recommended for those who love authentic Chinese food and hate MSG.
This is definitely a hidden gem in Vancouver!
The restaurant is not very easy-to-find though, as it is hidden under TD bank.
