We ordered 3 things: 回鍋肉 - Twice Cooked Sliced Pork ($7.99), 臘味炒台灣梛菜花 - Sauteed Taiwan Cauliflower with Preserved Meat ($8.99), and 雙星干炒牛河 -Fried Flat Rice Noodle with Soy Sauce & 2 Kinds of Meat ($13.99).I’d categorize Lucky Plus into the mid-high class of Chinese restaurants. Reasonable prices and good food! I love how clean and spacious this place is, and in terms of food, I really like how the food is not too salty and over-seasoned. [full review on my blog]
Lucky Plus Restaurant is a newish Chinese restaurant that opened up at the corner of Rupert and East 22nd Avenue. The interior is nice enough and it feels spacious given the high ceilings. We weren’t actually sure what to order so we stuck with some basics. First up was the House Special Chow Mein ($12.95). There was a good amount of crispy noodles as well as sauce to complement the noodles. The shrimp were plump and had a nice snap to the bite.
I didn't have much expectation for this place when I came here for the 1st time a few month ago. Now I have been here a few times I feel it is time to write a review about this restaurant. The food is more than Hong Kong style cafe food. It offers curry that resembles southeast asian curries. The cumin lamb is also not HK cantonese style cuisine. Having been to Golden Oscar cafe and E-tea restaurant many times in the last few years, including Copa, Little Cow, Kam's and many other Hong Kong or Taiwanese cafes/restaurants, I am giving Lucky Plus a big-thumbs up. Service is good and friendly and food is tasty and of good quality. I have returned to Lucky Plus every week for their cumin lamb and spicy tofu. I highly recommend this place! I hope they will keep up the good service and food quality.
