You never know what you are going to get with these little tucked away places. I walked in and thought this could go badly very quickly. Im always game though! Nothing fancy visually but PERFECT PLACE FOR BREAKFAST!!
Gone are the days were people make good but cheap eats. $20 for 2 people is amazing. We had way more food than we needed; we may have been over zealous with ordering but it was SO CHEAP!!!
It was simple but Goooood. You must try this place but don't go if you can't get past the diner feel. My only down was the lack of real maple syrup but as my friend reminded me for 4.95 breakfast you can't expect real maple syrup. Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon was crispy, hash browns had a good light spice to them. I was happy all around and would go back :)
This is my new go-to cafe. Was awesome. Everything is priced the way it damn well should be with housing as pricey as it is, and a dollar as low as it is!! Two people for $25 including tip. I got french toast with two eggs, two bacon, two sausages, a cup of tea, a side of hashbrowns and a grilled cheese sandwich that we shared. The other half of the party got two eggs, two bacon, hash browns, a cup of tea, and toast with a side of sausages to share cause they're pretty damn good. I wanted a few more things, but I probably wouldn't have been able to eat it all. I am going back to try the lunch menu soon... and more breakfast. The service was great as well and the food came fast. I LOVE THIS PLACE!
It comes down to: what can you expect from a place called Truck Stop, a burger for $6, breakfast for $5, owned and operated by one family? If you like cheap mom-pop diner food, that hasnt been renovated for perhaps 30yrs, this is worth checking out! If you are looking for some hipster, fancy place.. Stay away.
Great homey café. Honest people, prices and service. Diamond in the rough.
Sneaky Vancouver breaky spot... Awesome find. Small business, great vibes.
LIttle cafe warms my heart.. I work around the corner from this little gem and I absolutely love it! Its a little hole-in-the-wall, run by the greatest family! The son serves, and the parents and grandparents run the show in the back-of-house. The wonton soup is comparable to ANY I've had at fancy Asian restaurants in this city, and I always order it when Im under the weather. The daily specials are great! The sandwiches too...My absolute favourite thing on the menu though, my guilty pleasure, is the breakfast supreme sandwich. I can call ahead for it and dont even need to say the words. They always know what Im coming to pick up!
If youre looking for a cheap and cheerful little lunch spot this is your joint. A must try.
Classic. A dying breed of no nonsense family cafe, fresh, good, simple food for the price. Complaining about this place means you just don't get it, better than Bon's Off Broadway!
Truck stop cafe. It's name speaks for itself. for cheap, basic, no frills diner food, this is the go-to place. i say it's good value for very little money and the whole mom&pop-run feel of the place is always and added bonus.
