Captain Boil is a big franchise seafood restaurant. It has more than 30 restaurants across Canada in different cities. There are five locations in the Great Vancouver area. I have been to the two locations before: one is on Robson St. Downtown and another one is on Kingsway Vancouver. Both of the locations served quite delicious seafood. Very enjoy eating at Captain Boil.
Captain Boil Kingsway Location is at 3309 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC V5R 5K6. The same as Robson St. location, is a super busy street in Vancouver. Many restaurants are on the street. Such a great location to open a restaurant on this street. I have been to this location twice with my friends and fiances. The first time was all you can eat Mussels night. The second time was lunch combo. For all you can eat Mussels dinner, three of us had 2lbs mussels each plus fries. It was awesome. The big plastics bags were full of fresh seafood. Yummy! Captain Boil’s Lunch combo is another great combination. Fish or Chicken Teriyaki with rice with Seafood Assortments (2 Crawfish, 2 Mussels, 2 Shrimps, and 2 Clams). The total is only $13, which is such a great deal. Super hot rice with teriyaki sauce on top is super delicious. Definitely, we should go back to Captain Boil again.

Went with friends. This is not a traditional Cajun place but it is good. Having your seafood served in a plastic bag is a bit weird but I love that they provide bibs! You will need one for sure. I would return. Their spice level “fire” wasn’t as spicy as i had thought it would be.

Had dinner with friends and our overall experienced was excellent. They immediately setup our table for 12 persons as soon as we arrived. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and was served in less than 15 minutes. The restaurant interior is nice. Limited parking space here

After a year of wanting to try out these talked about seafood boils popping out everywhere in BC, I have finally gotten the chance to go to The Captain's Boil for a nice dinner out with the family. Luckily, my mom called ahead to make reservations at 8pm even though we initially planned to arrive earlier to line-up.. and just as expected, we had to wait amongst tons of families and groups of friends waiting for a table (P.S. they don't let you make reservations from 6pm until 8pm during weekends due to peak hours). I prejudged how big the restaurant was with how small their waiting area is, but they actually house a lot of tables spaciously. After being seated, their menu is very straight forward: pick your preferred seafood, sauce and heat level. We ordered 2 pounds each of the crawfish and snow crab (not pictured) with mild Captain's Boil sauce, a pound of clams in garlic sauce, calamari and sides of steamed rice, corn, potatoes and okra. The seafood come steamed in bags and off cracking you go! They give you a bib with optional gloves, and trust me, you will need them! It was a messy but fun experience! The prices are justifiable for the amount of food you get. The snowcrab was the favorite of the night because the legs are full of juicy meat; and as much of a novelty it was to try my first crawfish, it's definitely more work for little meat. Make sure to dip back in the bottom of those bags! I recommend trying the mild level of the Captain Boil sauce. A mix of their cajun, lemon pepper and garlic sauce, the barely-there bit of spice definitely gives a little kick and more flavour. The calamari was your run-of-the-mill, peppery pieces of deep-fried squid rings. Being Asian, I loved the steamed rice and thought it was a better pairing than the cajun fried rice since the seafood itself was already very flavourful. The sides of veggies were plain steamed aside for the corn that had melted butter. Okra is one of those vegetables that has a weird texture if you've never tried them before, but they are my favorite and I highly recommend! The only disappointing part to our meal was that we got more empty clam shells than clams and getting a very small portion of corn for $1.50 - not worth it. Aside from that, even though the place was packed and the servers were all hastily running around, our servers were friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted. Will for sure come back again!

Captain's Boil is great for everyone who is new to the seafood boil side of food! Be prepared to use your hands and work for your food! We go here for the shrimp and snow crab in mild Captain's Boil sauce, which is extremely flavourful, and even better if you love garlic! The price is pretty awesome for all the seafood you get. We've been at least 5 times and everytime we are met with delicious food and fast and decent customer service!

The food was super yummy with the different sauces. The only thing to complain about is the lack of training from the staff. They need to hire more people because it seemed like everyone was running and didn't have time to even reply when asking questions. This location is crazy busy over the weekends.

On the heels of the successful opening of their first BC location last summer, Toronto’s The Captain’s Boil now has a second location in Vancouver.  Located at 3309 Kingsway, The Captain’s Boil started serving seafood lovers earlier this month.  At the Captain’s Boil, you can indulge in boiled Cajun and Asian-inspired seafood feasts with a unique fusion flavour.  The recipes were inspired by Asian Fishermen who immigrated to the US Gulf Coast during the 70s and gave traditional Louisiana Creole-inspired crawfish boil a twist by adding Asian spices and aromatics.

I made reservations for 6pm for three people and was seated quickly. Glad I made reservations as once we ordered there was a huge line to get a seat. Food was good. Service was not as bad as I've read about so I was relieved. It was our first time so we were a bit lost but our server was helpful. We ordered 1lb shrimp, 1lb king crab which equals one leg, fried shrimp, fries, corn and rice. We were all stuffed in the end but it was the experience the I enjoyed the most. Your given a bib gloves and utensils to crack the crab. We really enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back again.

New place that just opened up. Very nice decor. We went around 5ish pm and wasn't that busy but as soon as we sat down we noticed our table was dirty. Had some left over sauces splashed on the new bibs. Service wasn't the greatest as the servers are not talkative but they were prompt to requests. Food was great though. Large and lots of pieces of prawns and really meaty mussels. The captain boil sauce was to die for. 2lbs of shrimp, 1 lb of mussels and an order of fries fills up me and my hubby. Definetely coming back here just wish their service was more welcoming.
