Poke Station is pretty standard when it comes to my favorite Hawaiian meal. While I'm not a fan of surcharges for better quality and tasting proteins, it is commonplace in Vancouver and I won't complain too much. Still, $2.50 for Ahi Tuna is a bit ridiculous. $1.50, as the surcharge for Sockeye Salmon, would be much more understandable. To the quality of the product, it's above average. You really need to know what you're doing in order to optimize the flavors. I see too many people mixing different conflicting flavors and then complaining about the flavor of the food. Service is pretty straight forward, helpful when needed.
I'll be instating a new scoring system:
Taste: 3/5
Quality: 3.5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Price: 4/5
Total: 14.5/20 > 3.5/5
I think I have lost count of the number of poke stations Vancouver has opened up and I am sure there will be more much this year. This is one of the closest ones to me from Monday-Friday and I pass by it on my commute daily. Having tried an abundance of local poke shops, each one does bring a different look and feel to end product. So let’s see what this one has in store.
Average poke, good price and huge portions of toppings. Not a fan of the pick your own toppings style, would rather have pre thought out combinations for me, howver there are lots of toppings available if you know what your doing. My bowl was a bit of a mess of flavours.
